Theorycrafting Examon before the New X drops

People are still debating whether it's worth using the Blue/Green Examon line because of Searcher Davis, but personally I view this as a dated tech given that the new red Dracomon finally makes it possible to use the BT20 Dracomon without major consistency issues. By promoting it from the Breeding Area and, you can evolve and maintain your turn to swing, triggering the Egg to play a Level 5 and evolve your Level 4 into another Level 5 (preferably Jamming Wingdramon). End of turn DNA for 3 checks total and Trash 1 Security when winning a Battle+ 2 more plays that may or may not enable an otk

ReArise Archtype Part 5.5 - NOBODY EXPECTS THE PUMPKINMON INQUISITION!

Sooo...Mon got a card. Im Just as shocked and/or confused as you. I wasn't expecting it, but it's a welcome addition. Since it's a searcher, it doesn't affect what I had in mind for her deck; I'm more curious about the rest of the Jesmon cards. Hopefully, the inclusion of Sistermons and Gankoomon doesn't make things complicated.

BUT ENOUGH OF HER! LETS TALK ABOUT PUMPKINS! I did Keito last time so what could be more fitting than to cover his sister next?

I was always going to do NoblePumpkinmon and his Tamer Nozomi. I just didn't include them in the voting because they don't have a complete line, even tho ReArise likes to use Bakemon for their Champion. I was kind of hitting a wall when I was sorting the cards for her. The idea was to be very gimmicky and unique with their effects to Pumpkinmon while also serving as an in-archetype engine. The main combo idea stayed the same, but then Succession came to the card game and gave me a new perspective.

Running Pumpkinmon alongside Nozomi is a viable play if you can't find another Level 5 to pair with your deck's main Level 5, while still taking advantage of your Level 4s' effects. It's specially scary with Filmon, who can play a Tamer for free. By playing Nozomi and evolving into Pumpkinmon for free you can also play another Tamer and 1 token for alliance. Since It trashes a card from Security you can also use the egg effect to evo for -1 into a LV6

Other effects abusable by their Sucession are:

- Raid+3K DP and Delete 4K DP or less, if trashing a Security delete 6K DP or less.

- Colision+Place 1 card with X antibody trait under to protect from DP reduction and gain 1 memory

- Fortitude+Suspend to battle or attack

Trick or Treat Wallace and NoblePumpkinmon are also available if you want to build a deck around them. I haven't used recovery+ in my decks other than lovelyAngewomon, but given the mandatory security trashing effect I thought it was fair to include some so you don't kill yourself in the process.

His Succession effect is less abusable. The main idea still is to evolve pumpkinmon into Noble, play another token and Swing with Double Alliance. All the Level 5s have some sort of evolution or attack effect that ends up being lost with Noble. The best one by far is Stefilmon, which can play "Trick or Treat Wallace" and any Option card with a cost of 5 or lower that you want to use. Second best probably is Dorugreymon who can link any option under him. Grap overclock+play is also funny...wait...puppet with overclock and Alliance...oh no...

It also opens up space to include Rasenmon and Fury Mode, which weren't really abusable outside of their native deck. Speaking of It...Holy shit thank you Chronomon for your Sucession and validation of my effect.

I was already dissatisfied with the Fury mode design because of the sheer amount of text required to make it work the way I wanted. With Succession, not only can I cut down on the text, but it also opens up more possibilities for the card. I’m doing a side-by-side comparison so you can see the difference. Its Evolution effect is now exclusive to Rasenmon, and since it retains the same effects, it gains much more value than the original even though they essentially do the same thing. Also, do something with top stacked card is a valid effect!!! I mean Shoutmon Superior mode already did something like that and is a official wording anyways but ill say I called!!! Both that, the effect from TS Kotemon and a Black Kyaromon.

Im also planning on doing a Second pass on the Herissmon cards because they are the ones Im more dissatisfied Overall. But for now Fury mode is enough alongside the Leomon cards that by popular demand, im making them a your turn only effect. I never wanted them to matter on the opponent's turn anyway, so it's a simple correction.

What ReArise character I should do Custom cards next?

Elecmon/HeavyLeomon was the winner of the previous poll and you can check out its cards in one of the links at the end of the post. Once more, it is up to you to decide who will be next! Well kinda.

If Mon win this time I will take the 2nd place Instead. I'm going to wait for the new Jesmon cards to come out before making custom versions for her. Just seems right to make them more in line.

If you could leave a comment explaining why you chose a particular character and your suggestions for a deck around them, I would really appreciate it.

ReArise Archtype Part 5 - HeavyLeomon: Turning courage into strenght!

It’s been a while since the last post. We've got some wild cards since then, so I feel more comfortable making cracked mechanics/effects. And as you can see, Tamada Keito and his partner won the poll!

It wasn't very challenging because HeavyLeomon had at least one and only one deck and playstyle to base off. So, obviously, I wanted to give myself some extra work and decided to make these cards work for Leomon as a whole.

Following the rules I set for this archetype, I felt that Fortitude was a given. Shortly after, the idea of an Overclock deck came to mind, thanks to the "on Deletion" effects found on several Leomon cards. That was my starting point, and from there, I simply filled in the gaps regarding what a "Green/Black Overclock deck" would do while also referencing the cards previously created for his deck.

It has your suspends, your de-digivolve and your Immunity to Digimon Effects standarts to Green/Black Cards nowadays. My HeavyLeomon is basically Callismon+Rebootmon which is very intentional btw. At least no one can bitch about my battle effects since Its on a freaking Green card. That pisses me off to this day.

Back on topic. The main idea of the deck is either evolve Elecmon into Leomon and kill them as soon as possible to play the Tamer and one more body or Option card to evolve into Grap who can give Rush to self and end the turn with it evolving into HeavyLeomon. Or Skip the Elecmon phase and drop Grap by effect

It can do some major damage with both King of Fists and Barrage Sweeper. With Security Attack+1 from KoF, Grap Inherit and the repeat effect of Leomon allowing It to Attack thanks to barrage Sweeper link effect, It can clear all Security in 1 turn. Kinda What Hadesmon does with looping Raidramon on play effect, you just need to survive 1 turn after that. If theres only a way to keep turn after Overclock...nah clearly I dont have a memory gain effect on play to make It work.

Speaking a little about the Options, I was determined to make it repeat an On Deletion effect from the start. It just seemed natural. The problem was balancing the effects it could repeat, which are:

• Trash 1 Draw 2

• Suspend to Battle or Attack

• Play any lv4 or lower related to Leomon or ReArise. This one was a Pain in the ass why Leomon has so many traits

• If you are using old HeavyLeomon, you can also repeat his on deletion effect. Thats why Its there even if he doesn't have a On Deletion.

Of course there will be more On Deletion effects for him to abuse but thats on the Future

Shishiomaru is there as a nice reference and a way to always ensure you have the options you want linked, while also maintaining the line's fortitude live.

Cards you feel are waiting to get Broken

Similar to Nyaromon BT15 that was just banned, which cards do you feel have the potential to become broken when new cards exploit them?

Deusmon 7Codeish deck

I saw some people discussing Dantemon playing a role similar to Omegamon X in Appmon deck and I decided to look into that statement more deeply. I think the deck that benefits most from it aside from 7code itself is Deusmon because it has two names required for the deck within the archetype.

Copipemon and Weatherdramon offer a relatively cheap combo for App Fusion into Cometmon. Evolve or Assemble Copipemon into Weatherdramon; Weatherdramon then links a Copipemon from your cards, triggering the Link effect to link Warpmon and app fuse into Cometmon. After that you need some setup to link warudamon to Go into Deusmon but It is good enough I guess.

I also don't think there are any other 7Code cards that work very well in the deck to take advantage of the new Copipemon's effect, but since I want it in the trash 90% of the time, it's fine.

Deusmon players, what do you think about this? I tested it in the manual simulator and it seems to work well, but I think I want to run more copies of Warpmon to make this combo more consistent. Dantemon is also good here, Linking all the shit and battle with 30k+ DP is Fun, but he definitely isn't the one that helps the deck the most unlike the new Copipemon and Weatherdramon.

Why does the size keeps changing?

I've been having this problem for a while and decided to try to do something about it now, because the drop in video quality is noticeable.

I read a bit about it and there are two options: wrong aspect ratio and bitrate.

As you can see, it's the same aspect ratio I'm rendering with and before making this post, I tested all the bitrate options and they all presented this "cut". How can I solve this?

ReArise Archtype Part 4 - Gaiomon: Fighting against the strongest!

Another installment of my custom cards for the ReArise archetype! This time, Hiiragi Takumi and Dorumon were the winners of the poll!

Sorry for the delay. I needed to focus on other things, but I finally managed to get this done! Since no one pointed out any errors in the previous cards, this post doesn't include any corrections.

What it includes is something fans of the card game have been waiting a long time for: an Gaiomon Ittou Mode card. It’s really strange that they hadn't made one yet given the effect of Gaiomon (EX4) that allows it to evolve into a Gaiomon "In name"

Speaking of the cards, most of the effects are reused from earlier cards of Dorumon's line, featuring the attack target change mechanic found on Gaiomon and Black/Red in general.

These cards were designed to work with both Dorumon/X-Antibody cards and cards previously used in Gaiomon decks, such as RizeGreymon or Yuuko Kamishiro. As well the ReArise Archtype obviously. That’s one of the reasons I reused Justimon X’s effect in my Ittou Mode, this way, any Gaiomon that Ittou Mode evolves into will retain its value for the most part.

Since I find most of the cards intuitive, I’m going to focus on references and trivia when I make them.

1-All of the Options have the "Kikurin name rule" because all of them are attacks using Kikurin, the swords of Gaiomon.

2- Kikurin protection+evo effect is in reference to the fact that Ittou Mode is a Gaiomon that was defeated and, as a result, acquired new strength.

3- My Gaiomon references almost all of the previous effects found on other Gaiomon cards:

• Having a color dependent effect is from Gaiomon BT9.

• Its First effect is in reference to EX4

• Trash Security effect is from Promo Gaiomon

• It had a DP bonus effect in reference to CS Gaiomon but I took it out because that’s a mechanic from other ReArise deck of mine and the DP bonus from the links was already enough.

Shakamon with the new stuff

What's the best way to build a Shakamon deck using the new cards and the whole Security- to Security+ mechanic?

Before anyone comments, I KNOW it’s simply better to build a pure SW deck or wait for a new Shakamon. But if I really needed to (and I do, because I’m in a themed tournament) I'd like to know if any of you have tested this and what your experience was like.

I just threw some SW Slop together in there and I can already spot things that wouldn't work very well. Like Ashino given there are only two Level 6s to evolve into.

ReArise Archtype Part 3 - Herissmon Full line, Tamers and more!

Back again with one more batch of Cards!

This time, with my biggest challenge yet: making cards for a deck that previously used a dead mechanic. Herissmon

The previous post featured most of the cards from this one, along with corrections for the cards from the post before that, and this one is no different.

Alongside its original color and its Digi-Burst/card-trashing mechanics, Herissmon now has the Black color and two keywords associated with it. "Fragment" seemed like a no-brainer for him given his previous Effects, so I decided to base these cards on the archetype that defines this playstyle: Rocks.

For Herissmon, I had two lines of thought when creating his cards.

1- They need to have effects similar to their previous cards and mostly work with them, even if the new cards don't synergize 100% with it, since, well...dead mechanic. Old ones can trigger the New ones but New ones cant trigger old ones.

2- It needs to be splashable in any ReArise deck.

Even if you choose not to build a deck focused on it, the effects need to be generic and good enough to consider using them for auxiliary/alternative playlines within the deck.

Because you know... he's the protagonist.

I looked at the ReArise roster and concluded that all the characters can be either Yellow or Black; since Herissmon is both, he can be used in either half of the deck without much trouble. Think of the TB/SW cards, they all work within the broader shambala archetype, even tho it encourages you to play with only half of it

Its kinda What Bt24 Elecmon and Aegiomon are for TS decks, this applies to Herissmon's entire line. Herissmon can trigger the Egg and add 1 card to Hand, filmon can play any Tamer and has a flexible effect capable of triggering inherited effects depending on where you choose to trash a card from. And Stefilmon can play extra bodies and any Option card of the entire deck with the exception of Spiral Hell. Its is also capable of placing cards under it to recycle effects or set up future plays.

Rasenmon is the only one that breaks this pattern as it is designed to be a strong top-end card in its own right.

All of the Tamers follow a similar Pattern of helping their respective half of the deck or both in case of the dual one.

And then there is Fury Mode...the hardest one to design. As It is I find It borders on being excessive, but if I wanted it to work the way I intended, it had to be this wordy.

Even though it can be used in any ReArise deck thanks to its alternate evolution, its high cost is meant to discourage its inclusion unless you can push for game.

Still using the cards from the Aegiomon deck for comparison, this is the deck's Jupitermon.

It is designed to be advantageous on both turns since it can evolve during the opponent's turn via inherited effects or Rasenmon's Counter. It also Works with old Rasenmon Digi-burst but who would use that right? Sad I know...

Funnily enough Bt8 Rasenmon Fury can evolve into my Rasenmon, Trash It and my Fury Mode from his cards, Unsuspend It and them evo into my Fury Mode who can make 4 more checks

It stops there tho BT8 Fury Mode cant be put under It again since its neither Black or yellow

The trash from top effect is something we kinda have seem before, de-digi and specially armor purge have something like that written in the full Effects, Unchain also have "cant Trash stacked cards" in his effect

I wrote it that way Instead of de-digi to evoke effects that simulate keywords in an improved way. Like the protection from battle blue has to be equivalent/better Jamming. This is Just better de-digivolve. It also implies that can trash cards futher than lv3 but if reaches this point is redundant. They would be deleted by the DP reduction Effects as soon as lv5.

Now, about this set of cards, the main combo goes as follow:

• Move Herissmon from Breeding and use his effect to Search a card and use the Egg to evolve into filmon

• By trashing the Egg from cards, Filmon will play a Tamer, If you play The dual Tamer or Michi you can maintain turn even at 1 memory. Other than that any Tamer that puts a Option under them on play will do.

• Evolve Filmon into Stefilmon, who Will play a card and put the Egg again under it. Now, you need to play Spinas Qualiase Blast from hand or have it ready under a Tamer. End of Turn happens and By trashing a Security you Will Attack, triggering the Egg again to evo into Rasenmon, link another card, Trash your evo cards and resolve Your Effects

• Rasenmon All Turns triggers and you can put Rasenmon Fury under it for next turn By using Rasenmon Counter effect or 1 of the link Options

• If you have the right setup, you can evolve into Rasenmon Fury mid-Attack to perform 2 checks + unsuspend and trash cards.

Salamon and Gatomon Gain memory inherit could also be used here, but I didn't think of any optimized combo with these cards other than trashing top Security and playing a Tamer instead of Digivolving into Gatomon.

Heres also some trivia about these cards that I took into account when creating the effects, and for anyone interested:

• Rasenmon -12k DP effect is a reference to his BT7 Counterpart. If you use the Max of his digi-burst It can reduce 12k DP!

• The same goes for Herissmon and Filmon inherits. Rasenmon Digi-burst reduces 3k per trashed card.

• Spinas Qualiase Blast references Qualiase Blast Effects and the link effect is a reference to bt8 Fury Mode. Since It trashes 1 Security and the DP boost is 3k, same as BT8 Fury Mode. Since this Attack in lore draws Power from Rasenmon Fury Mode I thought it was appropriate.

• Fury Mode Unsuspend effect is also referenced in 1 of my Fury Mode effects

• Stefilmon and Rasenmon background art references their evolution scenes from the game.

• All of the Tamers backgrounds are backgrounds from the game

ReArise Archtype Part 2 - Herissmon, LovelyAngemon corrected and more!

Back with some more custom goodness! Due to the feedback from the previous post, which... whether you liked it or not it received over 100 upvotes, I decided to create a complete archetype based on the characters from ReArise.

Combining that idea with the suggestions I got in the last post, I decided to rework the whole thing and establish the deck's mechanics and shared playstlye

Here's what I came up with:

A Tamer and Link Option heavy deck. Tamers will be able to place cards under them and synchronize with their respective partner's deck, while also offering a sort of general "toolbox" effect.

I will also be doing all their partner lines dual color, with yellow or black necessarily present because of how I designed Herissmon line Effects to work with all of them and his old cards (thats why im not using [ReArise] trait in his placing Cards effect)

As for the other rules I must follow while making the cards:

• Starting at Level 4, Digimon will gain 1 keyword. At Level 6 they all have 3 keywords with one of them being Link+1

• All of the lines from the main characters Must have at least 1 Link Option with the same colors as them and make the linked Effects synergize with the first effect of your LV.6

•They Will all have the same First effect of " [When Digivolving][When Attacking] [Counter] [Once Per Turn] You may link 1 Option card with the [Rearise] trait from from under any of your Tamers to this Digimon without paying the cost. "

• The Link Options while dedicated and having the same color and link requirements of their respective Digimon, it must in some way work with the effects of other mons from the deck that share 1 of those colors

For example: Marble Impact Works with Rasenmon since he can change the DP of an Digimon by reducing It, and LovelyAngemon Works with Spinas Qualiase Blast since It can delete a Digimon to activate her effect, recover the security cards she trashed and trash Security to attack and/or trigger her line Effects.

Speaking of her...

LovelyAngemon and most of her Cards were altered to fit the overall mechanics and for...balancing

Shes now "Reddit bitching LovelyAngemon". If I had one nickel everytime someone said battle is a Green effect...

I Still argue It fits character more to have her battle Instead of delete by DP but I must calm down the puritan society of color-based effects.

What changed:

•Security A.+1 changed to Link +1.

• She doesnt battle anymore. Now It has a regular Red Deletion effect. Happy?

• Effects corrected. All of them were "when attacking". First one had when Digivolving initially, but I ended up removing it by mistake. Second one was Straight UP wrong tho. 1st one now includes When Digivolving and 2nd is an Your Turn that triggers when an opponents Digimon is deleted

• 2nd effect is more fair now. People pointed out How easy was to OTK with these cards, which was the intention but I found a way to OTK which was not intended and make it even cheaper and consistent.

Trash Security and Recovery for every 10k > Trash Security and Recovery for every 15k DP

Now there is a much greater incentive to get Lovely to 30k DP, since that is the only way she can trash 2 security cards and recover the cards you removed from your own Security to do that. It also stops you from hard-playing an Angewomon and using Rush to have her attack and digivolve into another Lovely to OTK easily. It is still possible to do this, but it requires a lot more setup.

What else changed:

• Pusurimon now can also trigger evo into a Beastkin because of Herissmon line.

• Tamer doesnt play a card since when evolving link is global now.

• Marble impact now has 3k DP bonus to fit the deck Effects and a color link requirement. Someone pointed out that the wording of the old effect doesnt Work, so I picked the New text from "High Mega Blaster" which has a DP Based stun effect. Same dude suggested to change the "cant suspend" part to Security A.-1, thanks.

• Gatomon has a 3 cost evo cost now. It was no big deal in my opinion but was enough for 3 or 4 people to point out. It also has a completely different effect now, DP based deletion with an optional security trash. This tones down the deck's memory gain and efficiency, making it more in line with plays from similar decks like Medusamon or TS Bears that many people also complained about.

• The deck's memory boost is now a Link Option.

So that’s essentially it; I’ll wait for the next post to talk about Herissmon’s line in general and start a poll on which character to cover next. Until then, feel free to tear my cards apart and tell me what I should improve.

Since people asked, Custom Lanamon and Calmaramon for Shagaramon (and more)

People commented on my post saying they missed a connection between my Shagaramon card and Calmaramon/the Hybrids, given that New Century uses that evolution line for Shagaramon. I thought that was a fun idea, but when I started making the cards, I wondered..since I’m already incorporating the Hybrids into the effects, why not make it generic for Aqua decks and tie together the lore of the Ancients and the Hybrids being the ancestrals for every Digimon of their respective domain?

I think this take on lore-based effects is really fun. I miss the referencial effects in the early cards and this brings back a bit of that feeling while adapting to modern card design.

For the other hybrids, think of them having the same Draw and memory efficiency of Lanamon and the Digivolve effect of Calmaramon just switching the type they evolve paired with a condition according to their color.

Custom card - SW Shagaramon

Who wants more Aqua Slop??!?

I’m surprised that, to this day, we still don’t have a card for her. Whether within or outside the Shambala/SW archetype. It’s even stranger that she appears in the SW Pendulum while Ryugumon was in the TB one, considering that in lore Shagaramon works with Ryugumon.

Her effect was also designed to generally support any Ryugumon. Both share similar effects and keywords, while giving the SW half of the archetype an option similar to the TB Ryugumon.
