Something drastically has changed with the servers or matchmaking in this past week. They were bad enough already but now I'm being penalised when I have the better connection

I'm in UK and if i play on London server, I have 12-20ms ping with no spikes, my opponents can and have been from Italy, Portugal, spain etc, so they have higher ping playing on an away server, yet they play perfectly and I can't do anything for delay and heavy unresponsive gameplay!!!

It always happens when I connect to the Frankfurt server as other have mentioned, but it should never happen on my local server when I have at least half the ping of my opponents.

It happens whether I'm wired or WiFi, with 1.6gb connection.

I'm tempted to play using my mobile hot-spot to see how that fairs, it can't be any worse.

It has been unplayable for about a week now, no natter what time of day/night i play

Nearly every single game is unolayable with one sided delay and slow unresponsive players that can't do anything. Happening on London server with ping 19-22ms whole game. Totally unplayable. Switched off lastnight because of it, but it was when on foreign servers it played bad then.

Just lost my first game in elite because of it, would struggle against someone who always finished bronze when its like this.

How the hell does the server choose who to handicap with this crap? My connection is supper fast and smooth. Am I being overly throttled by GOALS?

Sick of this crap man, its totally unplayable one sided connections again in knockout. My passes are going anywhere and everywhere but where they should. My defenders with 95/96 in strength, acceleration and sprint speed can't shrug of anyone or keep up with them no matter how bad their stats are, they miss every tackle and interception but yet my opponents can win everything and anything so easy without trying, even from kick off my players first touch is horrendous, I don't spin or do cut backs, but if i did i wouldnt be able to because my players feel so heavy. The switching just goes fucking nuts too even though I'm using the analog

Its making me look like a complete noob at this game!!

What am I meant to do when in some games I can't defend anything at all, can't pass, dribble or run with the ball? I'm at a complete loss with this game, i can't keep stressing I myself out like this.

My connection is wired, stable and fast, even the ping counter on the screen shows this, but the gameplay is unplayable in certain games and its just happened twice in a row playing on frankfurt server whilst I'm in the UK.

You've got to laugh at it and how many there is in this, its a joke man.

Playing a few quick play games for challenges. Just using my 80 rated team.

Played someone with a low level team and was beating them 5-0 whilst trying for lofted through balls, headers and volleys and the likes.

Skipping every replay and just getting on with it.

Opponent scored two and proceeded to celebrate and watch the replays so I laughed and watched mine after my next goal, they then decided to pause the game 3 times and then pass the ball around the back until they gave up a free kick.

In quick play!! Like what is with these people??

Has anyone pulled anything decent from elite down over this weekend?

I got to elite yesterday but haven't played any games in it yet as I've been at work.

Wondering if its even going to be worth the stress of playing the remaining games.

I've had nothing but crap from the last 3 knockout rewards before this. Nothing that would finish higher than 83

Why does this still happen in this day and age?

15ms ping can feel so different from one game to the next. One game everything seems to work, then the next its hard to do the simplest of things.

Its not just this game, it's every online football game.

If developers could sort this out they'd be on to a winner

Was just in a tight match, playing someone that was above my skill level but I was playing well, then it all changed after it went 2-2

My defenders literally would just stay in formation and not cover anyone. In the second half his two forwards were standing unmarked between my defenders and any ball played towards them they were straight through on goal.

There wasn't enough time from me losing ball in midfield or upfront to be able to switch to a CB before they passed straight towards their forwards for a easy goal. If i didn't switch my CB would just let them run through and not react at all, by the time I could switch it was too late anyway.

A couple times I tackled them yet didn't come away with the ball even though I won it off them. Not like the instant tackle back that can sometimes happen, I won the ball then it instantly give it back to them? Some of the stuff was weird as hell but yet the connection felt smooth

How and why am I still matching on servers on the other end of the world in peak UK hours? Surely there's players closer to me playing and closer to them!!! Just had a match over 200ms ping on Johannesburg server!! There's at least 3 servers in between us

at least make it so that both players have a terrible connection and put in on a neutral server in-between.

The ball was ghosting around, missing most of the frames constantly then massive spikes of frames lost where I had no idea what was happening on the pitch and then massive input delay on top. Its pointless even trying to play them matches.

At least give us the choice to only play servers within a certain catchment area

I have just swapped from virgin 1gb to EE 1.6 today.

The new 7 pro router is putting out over 1.6gb now where as with virgin it was around 1,250.

However, on PS5 speed test my download has dropped from 800-900Mbps with virgin to 550-600 with EE. The upload speed has increased from around 50Mbps to 75ish.

The ping seems to be around 20ms faster which is the main reason I swapped for
