Study partner

Hi! I want to study Russian by writing my own stories and sharing them. If anyone is interested in experiences, school life, society, or creative hobbies like makeup, dance, and music, I’d love to connect. I’m around B1 level and want to improve my grammar while keeping my own way of expressing myself.

Does grammar limit your language level?

Does grammar really affect your overall language level? I’ve been writing essays, watching content I can understand, reading mostly formal short stories, and taking online tests just for fun. When I look up the CEFR scale, I sometimes see a lower level suggested for me, but then when I read what that level can do, I feel like I can do more than it says. How should I think about this?

Writing in Russian.

At what stage do you usually start to write essays or reflective arguments. I have been doing this for some time now and since I self study and never had a tutor I’m curious on where I stand in russian. I am happy to send over some of my writings but can you even classify yourself at a certain stage if you learn by yourself?

Golosa Book

So I bought the Golosa course-book but I self study and didn’t find out all the extra details until after buying it. It was recommended to me and I did do my research but it’s a little too late. I want to know how reliable is it if you study alone?

How to estimate my Russian level?

I’ve been learning Russian for a while and I’m trying to figure out my level on the CEFR scale. Are there reliable ways to estimate it without formal exams?

I also write in russian and I’m sure that can be one way to tell!
