Is it actually feasible to.get a cruising licence if you have a fixed place of work?

Weighing up options here, and I feel somewhat that getting a cruising licence seems to be for people who are either retired or make money online. How do those of you with fixed places of work or kids manage with cruising licence?

What is your actual official place of residence if you get a cruising license?

Im thinking of buying my first narrowboat, but i was wondering a few things. Firstly, I have an Allotment for over ten years, and whilst near the area. If I stop renting and am cruising, will I lose the right to an Allotment as I would technically not live in the local council area? I mean, I don't mind cruising in the area as it has a lot of canals anyway. I would essentially be there on the weekends and I can use my boat to get to work (as my place of work is near a canal also!).

Also, how does it work with regards to letters etc. With a cruising status do you lose any benefits of being an actual resident of the area?

Is it normal to ache after tremoring?

Just recently started TRE and the exercise I am doing is the one where you lie down and have your feet bottoms touch whilst opening up your legs (think it's a butterfly pose or something?!?!). Done this about 4 times within 2 weeks and my hip muscles are aching. Is this normal? Do you treat TRE lie a gym workout with plenty of recovery after?

Many thanks

Has anyone else found story bought compost to be rubbish?

Been off my plot for a few years due to illness and have returned. Was very excited and bought different compost brands only to find that seed germination was poor. I thought it was the seeds but seeds grown in the ground were fine!

*store bought compost. Yes it's a typo.

Is it normal for tremors to move up the body the more you do TRE?

My first few sessions the shaking were mainly in the legs and pelvis area, but on my fourth session the shaking moved up my torso (so I was wiggling my torso). Is this normal?

Why do some autistics cuddle plushies and toy animals?

Recently diagnosed and curious. I see older autistics having these items and im wondering if this is something I can add to my strategy of regulation.

Do you cuddle these items as it soothes the nervous system due to deep pressure? I notice i do it with a cushion. Many thanks

What's your hardest transition you struggle with?

I find the biggest is from sleeping to waking up. Going from unconscious to conscious, getting bombarded with sensory stuff and having to embrace the world.

I now realised what the driver was behind my morning anxiety!

Anyone adjusted their working hours after their diagnosis?

Thinking of trialing a four day work week (extra hours on each of the four days so I don't lose money) so I can add a fith day to just recover.

Anyone else done this and been successfull? How did you convince your manager to let you do it.

Many thanks

Does anyone else find dating apps exhausting?

Being aware of how you come across, investing in talking to someone for them to not respond down the line - and this is just in the talking stage.

Then first dates, like how to know if they like you/being nice? How to end it? The "no spark" comment because you dont know if a kiss at the end of the date is acceptable.

Then (for me) having three dates with a woman who you thought would be "the one" (a therapist who you could connect deeply with), all for her to end it when you thought it was going well (and from her messages it seemed it was). It's simply exhausting. The emption, the uncertainty, everything. Tempted to just stay single or seek out other neurodivergents.

How often do you change jobs?

Not sure if it's because I might be undiagnosed ADHD (got my autism diagnosis a few years back) or if my place of work doesn't align with any special interest, but I've been at my job nearly 5 years, and whilst it is comforting in terms of routine, I'm bored out my mind!

I read somewhere that it's not uncommon for autistic individuals to move jobs quite often. I wonder if it's because of our pattern recognition and we know what we can about it, or because ADHD is potentially there too, or because we may witness injustices at work that kills us from the inside. Due to my pattern recognition and can do my job whilst dissociating!

Anyone voluntarily move jobs often?

Does anyone else wake up and experience processing a delayed emotional?

Long story short, I thought things were going great with this NT girl unil she ended it. I find i often wake up a couple of hours before my alarm and intensely feel an emotion that I didnt feel in the moment. Sometimes it also happens at night when im alone. Like I FEEL it intensely!

Does anyone else experience this?
