I've been recently rejected from a master's opportunity at a university where I did a research internship. Even with a strong recommendation letter and solid grades, I was rejected by a regular university in Canada.

I think it was because it took me almost eight years to complete my bachelor's degree due to economic and personal difficulties I had. But at this point, I am 26 and feel well prepared for a master's, and still very insecure about my chances at other universities.

I feel I have a lot to offer, and I'm highly motivated and eager to start researching something related to experimental physics, instrumentation, or optics. However, when I look at the admission requirements, I feel my profile isn't attractive enough.

At this point, I'm looking for options in German universities because I would like to study there, but I'm not confident at all about my real chances of being accepted. I would like to receive recommendations to continue with this, because I'm doing an effort to do competitive applications but sometimes I feel like I would just work in a call center for the rest of my life.
