Goosebumps in the church

Five summers ago, my partner and I visited the **Christianskirche (Klopstockkirche)** in Hamburg. As Christians, we love visiting churches wherever we travel. We’re always respectful, we don't talk inside, we avoid taking endless photos, and we simply appreciate the architecture, history, and sacred space.

This church, however, was the only place we’ve ever visited where we felt unwelcome.

It was a pleasant, sunny summer morning. The church was completely empty when we walked in. Because it’s a small space, we walked quietly down the aisle toward the altar to admire the ceiling and the organ in the back gallery. As we stood near the altar, we suddenly heard the floorboards creaking. The cracks grew louder and closer, sequentially, as if an invisible person were walking directly toward us from the entrance.

We both turned toward the doorway, instant goosebumps washing over us. We looked at each other, jaws dropped. While we couldn't *see* anything, the temperature in the room dropped dramatically and it got so cold I had to put my hands in my pockets.

We both asked each other, *"Did you hear that? Do you feel that?"* The heavy, intense presence made it feel like we were intruding. Without hesitation, we both agreed it was time to leave. I even said aloud, *"Okay, we’re leaving now,"* hoping to put whatever, or whoever, was there at ease.

I know old buildings with wood and stone expand and contract with light and heat, but the timing, the sequence of the footsteps, the sudden cold spot, and the fact that we both experienced it identically make me convinced it was something paranormal. It’s stayed with me for years.

I tried researching the church a while ago to see if there was any history or local legend that might explain who or what we encountered, but came up empty.

Does anyone know the history of Christianskirche, or have an idea of what might have happened?

In the pictures, real photos taken that day.

Best/easy way to attend a match

Hey everyone, after hearing news that they are tearing Old Trafford down, suddenly the clock started to tick for me.

I have been a life long fan and one of my biggest dreams is to watch a Man United match at Old Trafford.

In 2020 I finally bought the flights, booked a room in the area, and got the hospitality ticket but then Pandemic hit and I lost everything. I asked for a reimbursement or transfer but they simply refused.

Anyways I want to go next year and was wondering what’s the best way but not super expensive way. I was reading I should buy an official membership so I don’t rely on hospitality tickets and fishy third party sellers.

It doesn’t need to be a PL match because I know how difficult it is to get tickets (although it would be awesome). I was thinking a UCL or EFL cup game or something.

I live in Germany.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

High cholesterol in a healthy diet

Hi everyone, I am sure this is a very common frustration case, but I do think I live a healthy lifestyle and shouldn’t be getting these results.

I am a male, 32yo, amateur rugby player, lift weights 3-5x a week for the past 16 years, run, cycle, currently beginning with triathlon.

I eat a very low fat diet, currently cutting a bit of weight for the past 3 months so eating in a caloric deficit of around 700-1,000kcal a day with fat corresponding to only 25% of my daily kcal.

I eat lean and cook at home, most eggs, wraps, pasta, protein powder, protein puddings, chicken, turkey, occasionally ground beef but rare. I also take daily multivitamin and Omega 3 for about 5 years now.

I do admit I do not eat much vegetables and fruits although i do eat at least a few bananas and cucumbers on a weekly basis. So my fiber intake is probably not optimal.

My father is a marathon athlete on his middle 60s and has also high cholesterol (so I strongly believe this is genetic as my mom also has it). He takes medication for it which I don’t want to take myself as I have read they are bad for muscle mass.

I would love to know your opinion on how can I naturally improve my cholesterol levels and what do you think are the best medicaments for improving cholesterol levels and your personal experience with them.

Thanks in advance

My results from this week:
Cholesterin 237mg/dl
LDL 166mg/dl
HDL 58.5mg/dl
Non HDL Cholesterin 179 mg/dl
Triglyceride 64mg/dl

Can I do it?

Hey all, first of all, I think everyone who has completed an IM, no matter the time, is a f*** legend and have my admiration.

I have been thinking of giving it a go in 2-3 years but I am not an endurance athlete.

I am an amateur rugby player, 174cm, 80kg, 32yo, lean, muscular, used to sprints, 5ks, 10ks, occasional bike for one hour or two and big time weightlifter.

My fitness level is quite good but like I said, all of my “poisons” are towards explosion and sprints.

I would like some tips regarding how can i adapt my body towards a more endurance level. I recently started to jog for more distances and try to keep a heart rate zone 2 because I noticed my bpm spikes if I push too hard on the jogs (even reached 200bpm)

And also I am an awful swimmer so I will definitely need a coach.

Any help on how to get started, very casually, is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Please read me / loooking for guidance

Just coming back from a month sick leave due to Burnout. I am a really hard worker but after finding out our team will be dissolved by half and we will do a complete different job next year, from what we do now, I just started to get really worried.

AI is taking over our responsibilities so a lot of people in my team will lose their job and I can be one of them.

I started to work even harder , extra hours, looking at work emails at night, etc.

I also started to apply for different jobs at different companies and already had a few interviews but none are moving forward.

I am back at work today and have a pot to catch up and also some explanation to give to my Leader (the atmosphere has grown really toxic).

I am very scared of losing my job or still be in the company but in this miserable uncertain situation.

Please tell me if you sense something coming from me or if you have any advice.

Thank you

Is my dog ok - I am still not over it

Nina, the light of my life, not just a pet but my best friend. I took her and her sister by heart (she still lives with my parents) from the streets when they were just a few months old. I have raised them with and for the first 4 years of their lives we were inseparable.

I moved to another country 5 years ago and they stayed with my parents because they have a big house and it is their home - it broke my heart to not bring them with me but at the end I think it was the least selfish decision I’ve ever made.

I was flying home just once a year and they would absolutely jump on me and we would stay together for a month and them I would fly back.

When I heard Nina had cancer, my heart dropped. I went home and we spent 3 weeks together. I could sense that would be the last time I would see her. 3 weeks after I flew back, she died.

It was around 3 am for me, and I couldn’t sleep. I heard her footsteps, i sensed her with me. I took my phone and saw an unanswered phone call from my parents - I knew she was gone. My parents know about the time difference and would never call me at that time if it wasn’t something important.

This was around 1 year ago. I still haven’t been home after that. My heart is still broken. I still cry , i am crying right now.

I need to know how my baby is, if she really did visited me and if we will see each other again.

Thank you
