I built a Google Calendar room display that runs in any browser — looking for feedback from anyone who's put a tablet on the wall

I got tired of meeting-room panels that need their own hardware and app just to show a Google Calendar resource on the wall. So I built Room Cherry: open a URL on any tablet browser, pick the room calendar, and it shows free/busy plus a tap-to-book when the room is free (holds until the next half-hour).

No App Store install — works on iPad, Android, and Fire tablets. Pricing is $10 per room per month with unlimited screens, and there's a 30-day trial with no card.

If you've put a tablet on a wall for Google Workspace rooms (Calendar day view + Guided Access, Sign Builder, Joan, Robin, etc.), I'd love to hear what broke and what you'd want from a browser-only option. Happy to share a /demo link in the comments.

Since so many folks are curious about the % to $ values

Saw that lots of folks were trying to figure out the $ behind the top 0.9% account. Here’s 0.4% with the value.

WHOOP’s hidden “trial return fee” completely killed my trust in the brand

I’m fine with paying something to return a product. That’s not even the issue.

The issue is:

  • there’s no mention of it when signing up for the trial
  • no clear mention in the terms
  • then suddenly you’re hit with a “return fee” that’s basically equivalent to a full month subscription

There’s no way shipping costs are actually that high.

Stuff like this is exactly what makes people cancel and never come back. WHOOP positions itself as this premium, high-trust brand, but this kind of dark-pattern billing behavior completely undermines that.

If you’re going to charge a return fee for a trial, just be upfront about it. Most people would still probably try it.

Hiding it until cancellation just feels scummy.

Good luck competing with FitBit Air.
