Is HR typically untrustworthy in any industry?

My very small team just lost a crucial team member, naturally, the workload has gotten heavier and overwhelming at times.

HR pulled my coworkers in one by one today, thought he was just checking in with us but I was wrong. He spent the entire time telling me that Gen Z feels entitled to money and that we should focus on taking on as much work as possible with no extra money. I understand working hard and seeing reward later down the road but he seemed to be personally offended by my generation.

I expressed feeling overwhelmed but hanging in there and he proceeded to say that he disagreed with my feelings of overwhelm, basically that one person leaving should be seen as an opportunity to take on more work and learn.

He also showed me a graph of what makes an "A player", and told me to focus on improving and giving him and manager a roadmap to becoming a better employee. He concluded by saying "your manager and the sales director don’t have amazing things to say about any of guys so know that you guys aren’t irreplaceable”. He said “I hope you don’t hate me but I figured I’d give you million dollar advice.

I was honestly shocked.. I cried in the bathroom after, I wasn’t even sure why but I felt like turning my passive job search into an active one.

I’m new to the corporate world, please enlighten me. Did I take it all the way wrong? My coworker said he felt no ways about his meeting although we were told the same thing. I’ll get over it but just needed to cry it out first lol

What to do if my boss promised me a bonus but no paperwork or email to back it up?

My team lead quit and I had to take on a big load of her work that falls outside of my job description. After many conversations since early June, he said upper management would agree to give me $1,200 at the end of August. I mean that’s ok but not great, I should be getting a salary increase since I’ll be taking on this work going forward. Also, I didn’t receive an email or any signed paperwork for this agreement. Is that normal? I also don’t know if this ‘bonus’ is taxable. If it is, I’d be walking away with probably $900.

Any advice on how to handle this? I’m fairly new to the corporate world

This should be fine right? FWB question

I’ve had a FWB for over a year, we’re cool, gotten through some bumps in the road but we’re in a good place now.

Anyways, I got free tickets to a FIFA watch party tomorrow, I was going to ask him if he wanted to go with me (my girlfriends aren’t into futbol). I was going to suggest us going to the watch party and then hooking up later. I live super close to the event too so it seems like a perfect plan to me.

We went out to dinner a few months ago and it was fun because the tension was building the whole night. I thought we could do something similar tmw. It shouldn’t feel too weird to at least ask but I’m overthinking a bit lol

Any thoughts?

Wetting hair everyday

I’m struggling to keep my hair moisturized for multiple days throughout the week. I’m thinking of completely wetting my hair for hydration when I shower (maybe not everyday but every other shower). I don’t towel dry, I just style right away and I’d only shampoo and condition once a week

Is this an ok method? I’ll only truly know if I experiment with this method. I’m just tired of the constant dryness.

Should I move into a leadership role?

I (24F) have worked in the pharma industry for two years now, I support medical device sales on the admin/logistics side.
My team lead gave her two week notice and my manager encouraged our team to check out the job posting and apply if interested. If the salary is much better, I honestly might apply.
I’m just worried because obviously the expectations would be greater, I’d have to become the knowledge bank of the group, probably take on more daily meetings, etc.
Maybe I’m limiting myself and doubting my skills but given this is my first corporate job I’m looking for some insight/advice!
