Higher rate pension tax relief

I have a workplace pension and a separate sipp I contributed to last tax year.

I am a higher rate earner (40%).

My workplace pension is salary sacrifice so effectively I got the whole 40% sacrifice at source.

But for the sipp I made one payment towards the end of the tax year. I’m awaiting the 20% relief from my sipp provider (from hmrc). When I do receive that I’m planning on using the ‘claim tax relief on your private pension’ back hmrc website to get the extra 20%.

Can anyone tell me does this extra 20% come into my hand or does it get lumped into the sipp pot?

Advice for testing buried outdoor cable

I have an outdoor swa cable that I believe runs from my garage to my driveway gates, assuming the cable was intended for powered gates at some stage (I can see the swa ends in both garage and at gates).

How can I best test to see this is the actual cable that runs between these 2 places?
The cable is approx 200m.

Making things more complicated (for me at least) the cable is broken half way along it. One half is still buried, one half is above ground.

I had thought to connect a 12v car battery at one end and test with a multimeter in the middle, nothing, and then moved to the end of the cable to test in case the one in the middle of the garden was a totally different cable, also 0v found.

Unsure if my testing method is no good ie 12v won’t go the distance down a 2.5mm2 cable over this large distance.

Any advice?
Thanks
