USC Med professor retracts 7th paper for suspected data reuse and falsification, possible violation of animal care protocols

This appears to be a record number of retractions for a single USC faculty member.

Edit: Another retraction notice for a different paper was published August 18-- for a total of 8 retracted papers.

PIs with labs running on fumes- what if anything is your department doing to help?

For those with good scores on pending R01 or R21 grants, is your department offering bridge $$? Or any other consideration? My department has overtly turned into a sink-or-swim business, if you don't have funds, cya later, and don't let the door hit you in the behind on your way out. They even expect clinician scientists to cover their research time on their own dime. I don't expect things to improve anytime soon.
