Hi fellow Redditors!
I live in NJ and most of my entire area has been without cable and internet for over 24 hours with no end in sight. Missed all the July 4th coverage and everything. There’s been no real communication about what the problem is either, just that it’s “being worked on”. This is for Xfinity if anyone is curious. Never had this happen before.
Anyway, I work remote and I’m just wondering what people do in cases like this ? I am NOT permitted to walk into a public place, such as Starbucks, to use WiFi for confidentiality/security reasons. Is there something more I can do so I’m prepared next time ? Thanks!
Anyone in the Woodbridge area have any intel on the Xfinity outage that started at friggin 9 AM and is STILL going? It’s basically the entire township that’s affected which is very odd. I’ve lived here since birth and this has never happened before. I was pretty disappointed to miss all of the 250 coverage. And before you say it, yes, I’m very thankful to have my power, AC, etc. Happy 4th and keep those fingers!
I was in PC recently and one of the meals I had was fully catered for my group by a local restaurant. There was a tri color pasta dish there that was amazing and I can’t stop thinking about it lol. All of the other food was great too of course, I’m just a pasta salad lover. It kind of tasted buttery ? There wasn’t anything else in it. Anyone familiar with this and how I can recreate back here at home?
Hi all — I’m starting a new job (financial) next week and it’s been over 10 years since I’ve gone through a true onboarding process at a larger company.
I already plan to ask about 30/60/90 day expectations, priorities for getting up to speed, and what training will look like. It’s also my first fully remote role, so I want to make sure I understand how onboarding and training are handled in this type of environment.
Are there any questions you’ve found especially helpful to ask your manager during a kickoff meeting? Or anything you wish you had asked earlier?
Thanks in advance for any advice! :)
