In the episode "POKER FACE", the Union Jack can be seen on Pickle's uniform in a few different shots-- the most obvious being this one where it's front and center of the shot. You may notice that the flag lacks any white colors. Back when I first watched this episode, I found that to be a curiosity, perhaps even an animation error, but then I noticed that it is consistent across that whole segment.

Now, jump back to "ANGEL'S SHARE" from the first season, and the episode has numerous United Kingdom flags flying at the start of the episode, completely unchanged from real life.

Now, regardless of whether it actually is an animation error from a lazy animator for that whole sequence, or an intentional detail, I believe that the final result implies that the country of Scotland seceded from the United Kingdom at some point before 2019, but would later join back up again by the year 2029.

I've been cosplaying as Batou since 2009, and Motoko Kusanagi herself has been my favorite character since I started watching SAC on Adult Swim in 2004. Back in 2013, I decided turn my old Hyundai Tiburon into an itasha by wrapping it in GITS graphics, so I just wanted to show you all to celebrate our Goddess. :D

The Itasha has long since been replaced. The wraps were damaged and decayed after 7 years (which is two more than their lifespan) and I bought a newer, safer, more reliable car since. I'll always have the plate though. :)
