Is Acko a good choice for insuring a new Tata Nexon iCNG (Pure+ PS)? Car will run in Bihar & Jharkhand

Hi everyone,

I’m buying a brand new Tata Nexon Pure+ PS (petrol + CNG) for my parents, and the car will be driven only within Bihar and Jharkhand. I’m trying to figure out the right insurance and have been looking at Acko. I’d love some real-world opinions before I decide.

What I’m considering:

Comprehensive policy (own damage + third party) for the first year

Zero depreciation add-on, since it’s a new car

Possibly engine protect, RSA (roadside assistance), and return to invoice

My questions:

Has anyone had Acko for a car? How was the claim settlement experience, especially for accident or repair claims?

How good is Acko’s cashless garage network across Bihar and Jharkhand (Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and smaller towns)? Do authorised Tata service centres work smoothly with them?

Is the premium actually cheaper than Tata AIG, HDFC Ergo, ICICI Lombard or Bajaj Allianz for this variant?

The Nexon is a factory-fitted CNG model. Do insurers treat it any differently? Any issues with CNG kit or cylinder claims?

If there’s a breakdown or accident on a highway or in a rural stretch, how reliable is roadside assistance and towing in this region?

My parents aren’t very tech-savvy. How is Acko’s customer support if they need to call someone? Everything seems app-based.

Is it better to buy through the dealer or directly online? Is there a real difference in claim handling?

Which add-ons are actually worth it on a new car, and which are just upselling?

I’m not just looking for the cheapest option. I care more about hassle-free claims, because my parents will be the primary drivers and I won’t always be around to handle things.

If you’ve had a good or bad experience with any insurer (Acko or otherwise), please share. Thanks in advance!
