Looking for some unfiltered advice. I work in a state government department where parking-lot envy and workplace gossip are very real. Anyone bringing in an aggressive, ultra-modern, or flashy car instantly becomes the topic of watercooler discussion.
I’m in the market for an EV and have two non-negotiable criteria:
1. Low-profile / stealth: It should blend into the parking lot like a standard family car. Minimal attention, zero bling.
2. True highway range: A solid 450–500 km in real-world Indian conditions (100% AC, highway cruising speeds), not optimistic MIDC numbers.
I was initially looking at the Harrier EV, but that has way too much bulk and road presence—it basically screams ₹25L–30L.
Then there's the Sierra EV. On one hand, people say it's smaller and boxier than the Harrier. But does the Sierra actually look like a "normal car" that stays out of the radar, or is the design too radical and head-turning? My worry is that the iconic wraparound glasshouse and retro styling will attract more attention, especially from senior colleagues who remember the original 90s Sierra.
For folks living with EVs or navigating typical government office environments:
Is the Sierra EV subtle enough to pass unnoticed, or is it a lifestyle magnet?
Can anything in this segment actually touch 450–500 km real-world without looking like a rolling spaceship?
What are the best sleeper EV options that deliver massive battery capacity while looking completely mundane?

The India-spec JSW Combat is expected to feature a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, an 18.4kWh battery and two electric motors driving the front wheels (FWD). Paired with a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), the system produces a combined output of 360hp and 610Nm of torque. It offers a claimed all-electric range of 90km on the NEDC cycle, while the combined range with a full fuel tank is rated at up to 1,100km.

I'm confused which to buy

Recently, I've been seeing a lot of offers on Maruti Suzuki cars, with discounts going up to ₹1–2 lakh on some models.

What is the actual reason behind this? Maruti has always had strong demand in India, so these huge discounts seem interesting.

Is Maruti struggling to sell cars? Are dealers sitting on a lot of unsold stock? Or is the competition from Tata, Hyundai and Mahindra putting pressure on them?

Also, are these discounts available only on selected variants and MY2025 stock, or are they applicable to current models as well?

Anyone working in the automobile industry or who recently bought a Maruti, please share what's happening on the ground.

What's the real reason behind Maruti pushing such heavy discounts?

I am little confused. I booked a car from H in Sept and as the model was not in yard, so it was a fresh order and i got a month waiting.
Now today i got the call from salesperson that car will arrive in yard in 1-2 days and in the meantime they want to do insurance if i want to keep current quoted price.
Initially i thought to do PDI first and then make payment to proceed with documentation and delivery.
Though apart from booking i have not paid any amount and neither he has requested any money until now even to process insurance.
It looks like they have some incentive from company in doing insurance till 10th Oct.
I am just confused should i let him do that or not.

Update: I have told the salesperson that I'll do insurance post PDI. Thanks everyone for help.

ZXI Automatic Strong Hybrid - 2025 manufactured- on road 17

I’ll be mostly using it for city and occasional trips outside.

Please help me decide which one to choose. Also, how are the quotes, can I negotiate ZXI more since it is 2025 manufactured ?

Hi guys, need some expert advice!

I’ve been driving a Mercedes GLC 200 in Bangalore for the past four years, and honestly, Bangalore roads have been giving me a heart attack!

Recently, due to some ongoing pipeline work, my GLC took a nasty hit underneath, resulting in serious gearbox damage. The repair estimate came to a whopping ₹20 lakh+! Thankfully, insurance covered the damage, but the replacement parts have to come from Germany, which means my car will be out of action for almost a month.

This experience has made me seriously consider switching to a new car with significantly better ground clearance, especially given the condition of Bangalore roads.

I’d love to hear your recommendations. What are some good alternatives in the same price range and segment as the GLC, but with much better ground clearance? Ideally, I don’t want to compromise too much on luxury, comfort and driving experience

I’m planning to buy this Hyundai i20 Sportz(O) IVT Automatic, 2025 model, with 14,000 km on the odometer from Cars24.

I took a test drive today, and the car felt smooth and sounded good. I didn’t notice any issues during the drive, except for a few scratches on the left ORVM and a slightly lifted bumper near the right headlight. Cars24 has agreed to get these fixed. The car also comes with only one key.

They’ve quoted me ₹7 lakh for it.

I’m not too concerned about mileage, as I’m expecting around 9–12 km/l in the city and 15+ km/l on highways.

My main concern is whether Cars24 could be hiding any underlying issues that might not be immediately apparent. Since this will be my first car, I want something reliable that won’t give me too much trouble.

Do you think this is a good deal at ₹7 lakh, considering the model year and mileage? I’d really appreciate your advice, especially from people who have bought cars through Cars24 or have experience with the Hyundai i20 Sportz (O).

As the title reports, I was looking for my first personal car, though not in a hurry

drove a friend's kylaq Signature plus AT , I was impressed felt it was mature, was just too eager and I loved it honestly, don't know about others but I felt home

but then I though I will keep my cars for long, so why not go all the way

and then I started looking for bigger engine european cars

Kushaq exterior is jaw dropping but interior dashboard feels something's missing

Taigun interor design feels premium (by looks not that's it's soft touch)

Then comes Duster which has an oil cooled gearbox and will also cost 4 lacs less as i was not looking at top variant but tbh I don't wanna go with reflector headlights again

now a small issue is Scorpio N Z6 D AT and XUV7XO AX3 D AT are also available at these price points and the Jatt inside me is thinking maybe I can TD them too.

but their FE, service and warranty cost are just too much to handle even at 5k kms a year especially when I have to drive like literally just for pleasure, I go to office on my jupiter

So it started with driving kylaq, with BH registration is will go down to 13 lacs for sportline AT, never missed a beat in it, currently single and even if kids come into picture 5 years down the line space should not be a concern

but the I can just go for the european duster at 16 lacs for adventure AT with BH registration which is just a grade above kylaq

Then my heart has been longing for a VW Skoda since we bought dad his honda city, which cost me 20 lacs with BH registration but right about then i can go for 7XO D AT which is humongous and I was impressed with my friend's 2019 XUV500 that it was good but Bodyroll was evident in 500 idk how much of it is in 7XO

What you folks would advice me, please put some sense in me
