Discount on bmw/merc

I am looking to purchase a c300 and the dealership says merc doesn't allow for any discounts everything is online generated and they can only offer the -3L offer that's ongoing from mercedes directly.

Is this true? Have someone negotiated much lower on the car cost?

Also what about bmw m340i? Bmw is on some imaginary bs and have jacked up the ex showroom to 77 now. Whats the best i can do here?

What can I say etc to squeeze out max possible in both cases?

Vehicle Age

Why people not talking about the life of vehicles policy? In a India where mean income is 5-7 lakh and most population bracket is 3-5 lakh, is this policy needed? Doesn't this creates scrap level ? Any other countries have any resemblance like this policy?

A small personal win that I wanted to share

Picked up this 2019 second hand Maruti Suzuki Alto ELXi as from Spinny.

Going back to my hometown Dehradun is always special.

Along with revisiting familiar places, I also stopped by Dat Kali Mandir to seek blessings before starting this new journey.

This visit felt a little bittersweet.

At the same time, it was hard not to notice the impact of recent deforestation. Seeing fewer trees in places that were once so green was a reminder of how quickly our surroundings are changing.

Still, I am grateful for this moment. More road trips and easier visits home.

Car Details of anyone is interested

Model: Alto ELXi

Year: 2019

Driven: 12,000 km

Price: ₹2,80,000

Hope ethanol doesn't ruin it XD. I want smooth first car ownership not a troubled one.

Experts, What could be the problem for this.

Its not a manufacturing defect in tire as this is third tire to face this. What cud be wrong and what needs to be checked?

Why are people not talking about ethanol mixing impact on economy?

Apart from the regular e20 vs e85 discourse, why are people over looking the fact of its impact on transportation industry. As per Gadbadi, diesel is also going to be blended with fuel.

My father is in the transport line and majority of trucks that are responsible for transportation of essential commodities, construction and other commodities takes place strictly through these decades old trucks that already have a mileage of less than 5 kmpl.

If in the foreseeable future, diesel mixed with ethanol will clearly cause a significant drop in mileage and transportation cost is gonna go up which eventually lead to every commodity around is becoming more expensive.

I’m very much willing to have a constructive conversation on this topic.

Purchasing car(magnite) need advice

Pune- maharashtra We have finalized magnite just want to check what all discounts I can ask to dealership. Right now they are proving 24,000 discount if I purchase insurance from outside. And 30,000 if insurance purchase from them.

Purchasing from policy bazaar because it's almost 80% cheaper than dealer.

Could you suggest anything more I can ask as this is my first car purchase.

Looking for a used diesel car under ₹8.5L for a tall family (3 members > 6ft). Need suggestions!

Hey everyone,

We are looking to buy a pre-owned diesel car with a hard budget cap of ₹8 Lakhs to ₹8.5 Lakhs.

Here are our usage details and requirements:

Family: 4 adults, 3 of us are above 6ft tall. Rear legroom, headroom, and overall seating comfort are top priorities.

Usage:

City: ~500 km/month

Highway: 7–8 long trips/year (~700 km each trip)

Total annual running: ~11,000–12,000 km (hence preferring Diesel for highway cruising and torque).

Past Cars: Tata Safari Storme & Hyundai Verna Fluidic. We love solid highway stability and strong diesel punch.

Options currently on our radar:

XUV500: Fits the size/presence of our past Storme, feature-rich, spacious second row. (Concerned about maintenance/niggles in older models).

Old-gen Fortuner (1st gen / facelift): Ultimate reliability and space, but hard to find a clean, non-abused one under 8.5L (and high km reading).

Old-gen Innova / Innova Crysta (lower trims): Bulletproof reliability and extreme space, but finding one with reasonable mileage under 8.5L is tough.

Hyundai Creta (1.6 Diesel): Refined engine like our past Verna, easier to manage in the city, but worried if the rear seat legroom/headroom will feel cramped for 6-footers after coming from a Safari Storme.

Questions:

Out of the options above, which one makes the most sense given our budget and tall family size?

Are there any other options we should consider?

Any specific model years or variants we should target in the used market for ₹8–8.5L?

Appreciate your inputs and advice!

Grand Vitara Pre Launch: Is it E20 compliant?

I have Pre Launch booked Grand Vitara strong hybrid. I know for sure it is 2022 manufactured and registered on 1st Jan 2023.
I am not sure if it is E20 compliant as there is no sticker on petrol cab (not even it says petrol). I don't see any booklet either and websites are confusing me, some says Yes and some says No

Can someone confirm it for sure or how can I check this myself.

Advice Needed : New driver, confused between Altroz, Nexon, and Venue Diesel

Hey everyone,
I’m a **new driver** currently looking to buy a car primarily for point-to-point transport and frequent highway runs. My monthly running and highway preference are why I am leaning heavily toward **diesel**—mainly because I want to completely avoid the headaches and long-term uncertainty surrounding aggressive petrol ethanol blending (E20+). Also i would like to have a safe car as ill run om highways more.

My budget can technically stretch up to ₹**14 lakh**, but obviously, the lesser I spend, the happier I am.

Right now, I am stuck between these three choices:

  1. **Tata Altroz Creative S Diesel (Manual)** – Around ₹11 Lakh
  2. **Tata Nexon Creative Diesel (AMT)** – Around ₹14 Lakh
  3. **Hyundai Venue HX5 Diesel (Torque Converter AT)** – Around ₹14 Lakh

My Confusions & Dilemmas:

**The New Driver Factor:** As a beginner, I want a stress-free driving experience, especially in traffic. I know the Venue has a proper, smooth Torque Converter automatic, but the HX5 variant feels quite basic/stripped down for a ₹14 lakh

**The Nexon AMT: Looks great and has features, but I’ve heard mixed things about AMT jerkiness compared to a true torque converter.**

**My main questions for you guys:**

Is it worth stretching to ₹14 lakh for the Venue Diesel AT just for the transmission peace of mind, even if it has lower-end features?

Should I just save money and get the Altroz Diesel Manual, or will I regret not buying an automatic as a new driver?

How bad are base/mid features on the Venue AT compared to what you get on similarly priced Tatas?

Would love to hear your practical suggestions and real-world ownership experiences!
