Cons of Svajone? Are my concerns reasonable?

I have been looking into beacuerons for the past few months and a name I keep seeing people rave about is Svajone. In every group I have looked at so far that's the name that comes up the most for top recommended breeder. I have heard all the things people feel make her a wonderful breeder, but I have also seen a handful of vague comments about people having bad experiences but not being comfortable talking about them. This is usually followed by a slew of people attacking that person, some of them seem to be her friends? In other breeds I have seen more balanced opinions about a given breeder or professional responses to negative opinions.

From her website she seems to be a good breeder but the online environment is just weird. It's odd to me that a breeder would associate with people who are publicly rude & attack others in the name of defending her, just from a professionalism standpoint. I'm also hesitant about the number of litters she produces per year but supposedly that's typical for beaucerons? I searched this sub and the only negative comment I found was that she had an oops litter in 2025. So I have some concerns but I'm not sure I should write someone off if they're producing good dogs.

Does anyone have concrete cons/negatives about this breeder? Specifically looking for the negatives because I have already read plenty of the positives.

Plant ID, care, and pest help

I have a group of succulents that seem to have developed what I think are fungus gnats. I have never had any pests before and have always done very minimal care for the plants so I have no idea a) what the plants are and b) how to go about caring for them better and getting rid of the pests.

Photo attached is one of them. I just watered it and discovered the gnats. I have 11 plants like this in total, this one and 9 others are all the offspring of the biggest one I have that I bought over 10 years ago.

I have always just used plain Miracle-gro fast-draining cactus potting mix for them with nothing else mixed in, since it was my understanding that it's a pretty gritty soil. I water them roughly every 3-4 weeks, once the soil is completely dried out. So I'm not sure why they have gnats since they are really dry most of the time and I read that the gnats like wet soil and one of the solutions is mixing soil with grit. I did re-pot them all with new soil about 2 months ago, could that have led to the gnats?

What is this plant, and what is the best way to go about getting rid of the gnats? I don't want 10 years of plant-growing to be ruined by bugs. Any suggestions are appreciated.

How to determine if a rescue is supporting BYBs vs just enabling them?

How do you determine a rescue is supporting/is a front for BYBs vs just allows backyard breeders to continually dump dogs on them?

I am involved in a lot of dog pages so my social media feed often shows me random rescues. There is one rescue I have seen a lot of lately, Live Free Animal Rescue, that seems to frequently have "breeder release" dogs and puppies. Just in the last few days they have listed three adult cocker spaniels, an adult french bulldog, an adult shih tzu, a couple of adult toy poodles, a litter of "accidental" poodle/chihuahua puppies, all of which are "breeder release" which all seems rather suspicious to me but I suppose they could technically have all come from one breeder. The rescue has plenty of other dogs mixed into their postings (pit mixes pulled from other shelters) but every couple of weeks they seem to have "desirable" dogs/puppies that they say are "breeder release" dogs.

I know some rescues just allow backyard breeders to continue to hand off dogs, but some rescues actually buy from those breeders... how do you figure out which is which?
