So I have some ideas for a rewrite of the comics, and I just wanted to see what you guys think and if you have any other ideas. The ideas are not for all of the comics, but please feel free to give ideas for the other comics too, I appreciate all of them. Also, you can change a lot (I didn a lot here), but I want to keep it kind of the same because I am a canon-enthusiast (sorry to people who don't like that), so same main story lines except for the bits I have changed here

The Promise: I was inspired by Jasmine Island (an island that was neutral in the 100 year war), so I thought make it a bit bigger and make that the united republic? I just thought the whole mixed culture thing made more sense with this than the fire nation colonies. Also Zuko doesn't visit Ozai, and Maiko don't break up (they already did this in the show, and it ruins that final scene)

The Search: When I was thinking for this, I was quite into TADC at this time so I kinda thought of Ursa having forced memory loss but she still remembers some of her past? Maybe she did some sort of ritual to try and find a way to get back to her kids but it failed (im sure theres a lot better way to explain where ursa went without making it memory loss but still make it make sense though) have Ursa and her family be more noble, and have her meet Ikem and Kiyi in this prison place (kiyi can be like their adopted daughter)

Smoke and Shadow: Im not sure for this one as im of the opinion for an azula redemption arc but not yet, I think its too soon for her to be redeemed, but I don't want to make her just fully evil and one dimensional like the original. Also, make Ursa, Mai and Ty Lee still re-learning about the fire nation, and them being stuck between their loyalty to Zuko and their loyalty to their nation

Sisters: Like before, make it be Ty Lee re-learning and making the kyoshi warriors less trustful of ty lee at first, they only let her in because of the chi blocking (she sent them to prison, of course they would be less trustful)

Azula and the Spirit Temple: Make Azula rescue Chiyu? I think that was here name

Also theres others, like Toph not losing to random earthbenders, Aang not promising to kill Zuko etc. What are your ideas for these and the other comics, and thanks for any replies.

Hello im sorry if this is weird this is my first post on reddit. So I recently became a fan of azula having a redemption arc, and I wanted to see the how the comics do it. I liked some of the ideas, but the execution was not good. They gave very ableist view of her mental health and then just made her a villain again after, villainizing her for just being a kid. But, the ideas were there, I liked smoke and shadows idea of her trying to help Zuko be a better firelord, but its more villain like because her view of ozai is all she knows (and also it would take a long time for her to be completely redeemed). Finally, I love this fanfic series (https://archiveofourown.org/series/2137077) which is comic compliant except for azula and the spirit temple, so this is why I wanted to keep the elements. This is the other reason why I wanted to keep the main elements, but make it better, so we are keeping her making the fire warriors etc, but still making her a more complex character and putting her on a proper course for a redemption arc. What are your ideas, and thanks for any replies.
