Skardu visit in last week of September

Planning a 5-day trip to Skardu with my spouse and kid in the last week of September.
I’ve never been to Skardu before, so wanted to ask people who have been there around this time — how is the weather and overall experience in the last week of September?
Is it too cold, especially at night, for a kid? Also, is Deosai/Sheosar usually accessible around this time, or does it depend heavily on the weather?
I’m mainly planning to explore Skardu and nearby areas rather than trying to cover too much in 5 days. Would also love to know what places you’d consider must-visits.
And how is the scenery around late September? Do you get to see any autumn colors, or is it still mostly green?
Would appreciate any tips, especially from anyone who has actually visited around late Sept.
