CivMC [SMP][PVP]{1.21.1-1.21.9}{Nation Building}{Civilization}{Simulation}{Economy}{Simple Voice Chat}{No map resets}{Geopolitics}{World-building}

CivMC – A hardcore nationbuilding experience!

Version: 1.21.8 (supports 1.21.1-1.21.9 too)
IP - play.civmc.net Discord: https://discord.gg/uFqW4PSnJy

CivMC is a long-term civilization simulation server. The server (and map) are almost 4 years old now, and the map has never reset! At the moment we have 100+ players at peak times every day!!

The server is sometimes referred to as “semi-anarchy” because although the admins will take action against harassment, hacking and cheating there is very little else that will get them involved. Griefing and raiding are therefore allowed, but don’t let that trick you! Player enforced justice is very much possible on CivMC. So don’t think a powerful nation is just going to let you get away with raiding or griefing them, you might just find yourself receiving a taste of hell.

With this concept of player enforced justice CivMC takes the world of “towny” and “factions” to greater heights, with more freedom and flexibility for the players without devolving into a completely lawless land like 2b2t. With nations and organisations arising across the server!

We have multiple plugins developed over the course of many years that give you the power to control the world in the ways most other Minecraft servers do not:

> - Citadel allows you to reinforce blocks, chests, doors etc... > with a limited amount of health! > - Enforce justice using ExilePearl, allowing you to imprison your fellow players in the nether by killing them with a pearl in your hotbar and then fueling their pearl. > - Spy on players using cctv. Reinforced noteblocks will alert you > when someone enters a 23x23x23 area around the block, and > reinforced jukeboxes will record actions someone takes in a > 23x23x23 area. > - Defend against grief with bastions which provide regional > protection with limited health. > - Create custom groups using Namelayer, allowing you to distribute > permissions to other players and chat from across the map. You > also have your own private group by default, to view the GUI for > groups do /nl. > - Find fixed portals to the nether by throwing your essence. It’ll > lead you to what looks like an end portal, but it actually goes to the nether. There are 19 portals on the map and no new ones can be made! > - Climb the tech tree with FactoryMod which gives you the power to > harness industrial power and surpass vanilla efficiency. > - Custom ore generation to help combat x-ray using HiddenOre. This > generates ores as you mine. Some ores also spawn in massive veins (and diamonds only spawn in veins) where if you mine in the area > around an ore once you find a vein you’ll find more ore. Veins > contain multiple stacks of ore if you can figure them out!!! > - Brew drinks using the brewery mod, some of which confer useful > benefits! > - Farm crops with realistic biomes which creates biome diversity > and increases the growth times of crops. Using greenhouse blocks > (glowstone) crops can even grow underground. See what grows in > your biome using /rb then mass produce and trade crops with > nations who can’t produce what you can! > - Buy and Sell goods with ItemExchange, which lets you setup shop > chests for trading.

Explore a map that is now over three years old, filled with ruins of forgotten civilizations, massive bustling cities full of activity and commerce, long forgotten monuments, huge farms and military installations of a level you won't see on any other server! You can explore our world map in this player-created and maintained map which shows you the many nations of the world, as well as transport routes and individual settlements. Political scandals, military coups, ancient ruins to explore, hidden treasures buried deep underground to excavate, untapped mercantile opportunities, the vast and unknown depths of the nether to explore, strange nations with alien architecture and expansive cities full of activity and community. CivMC contains many opportunities and niches in which you can carve out a space; how will you leave your mark on the server!?

I saw an interview with Yakoob in a guardian post yesterday too. In it Yakoob said much the same, that the greens are lieing to voters and taking advantage of Muslims due to our support for self-id and that polanski should "keep it in his personal life", "keep it in the bedroom" and "not bring it into politics" etc...

Reading this article by the news agents it was good to see the local greens saying they would not work with independents supported by Yakoob due to their anti-LGBTQ stances.

I know we have a pretty strong, and growing, presence locally in Birmingham. And I was just wondering what the potential is for us being able to push back against independents supported by Yakoob ?

Sorry if this sort of post isn't allowed. Had never seen one made before but didn't really know of anywhere else to ask about this sort of information.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a source/website for information on the election results that has more information than just who won the ward and total gains/losses ? In particular I'm quite interested in finding a resource that makes it easy to view the figures for the total vote counts in every ward, if a better (or more immediately updated) one exists than Wikipedia. As I know vote counts are announced but none of the main news websites list that information as far as I can see.

I saw a couple local news sites doing it for just their area last night, and the Manchester evening news had it for some areas too, but I couldn't see anywhere doing it for all of the announcements as they were happening (or soon after).

I'm particularly interested as I noticed that with quite a good number of the Reform gains, especially if you consider only those gains from labour, at least half of them could've been stopped if we had an electoral system where votes transferred.

In at least half of their wins if you assume libdems/greens would likely go to labour and that tories would go reform (although realistically there are a good number of tories who rank reform as last when polled and so would likely go labour) then there are a substantial number of seats labour would have retained that they instead lost.

I know that there are some labour supports *and* some green supporters who will just use this as an opportunity to attack the other and say everyone should vote for them. But I think that misses that many people, in either party, would be unhappy voting the other as their first choice due to decisions that party has made. But if they were ranking the parties I think many more would be able to "stomach" putting the "other" party lower on their list but above reform to stop reform.

I think there really needs to be a push from labour members, supporters and local councillors/CLPs to encourage the PLP to pass an electoral reform bill that includes *at least* reform of the local electoral system before the next general election. Maybe with labour arguing that implementing local electoral reform prior to the next GE will be a good opportunity to see how it plays out and then including national level reform in their manifesto for the next GE if the PLP believe it's too risky to their personal seats for 2029.

I think, given the results I was looking at last night, there is a much higher assurance of a transferable vote system benefiting labour on a local level than it necessarily would nationally. Labour have a much stronger local election machine than the greens do, and without the funding reform has I don't think that'll change overnight for the greens in the same way reform have been able to do. Labour also have many amazing councillors on a local level still, with many good people still in the party on a local level who care strongly about their communities and doing the best for them.

For those reasons I think if transferable votes were implemented locally it'd mean that labour end up as ranked 2nd or 3rd by a lot of green voters who will likely never rank them first now due to labour disregarding certain communities. This is, I think, the most likely way for labour to actually retain a lot of seats they lost to reform due to vote split. I don't think that there's much of a way to guarantee taking back some of these voters under FPTP but I do think under a transferable vote system locally they would be able to.

BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POINT (oops didn't mean to go on a tangent): I was wondering if anyone had a link to such a resource as I mentioned at the beginning. As I would quite like to look at the data and analyse it to see how many seats labour could have retained in these elections under a transferable vote system that they likely would have always lost to reform under FPTP.

I also don't think I've seen any of the mainstream media commenting on the fact that a lot number of labour --> reform seats would not have happened if the green votes went to labour (even if tory went to reform) and are instead painting a picture of it being about reform gaining from labour. Obviously there are still a good number of seats where that is true, but i think it's being heavily overlooked that labour's performance would not have been anywhere near as bad if they hadn't lost voters to the greens. And that under a transferable vote system labour could've actually defended successfully a lot of seats they lost here.

And i think that should be cause for real thought from labour party members, supporters, councillors and MPs as to why they should support introducing local electoral reform and a switch to a transferable vote system as soon as possible to greatly increase the strength of our democracy and ensure that in wards where a majority are voting against reform they don't end up with a reform representative
