Toilet seat literally covered in pee.

Went upstairs to use the washroom this morning.

Heard one upstairs roommate come downstairs and he had been downstairs for a while before I decided to go up.

It's as if this 50 year old looking man just toilet seat down intentionally peed all over the seat and even onto the floor. - It's not like 2-3 drops that would be wiped up, I'm talking the ENTIRE SEAT was COVERED.

I go out into the kitchen where the roommate is and politely ask hey do you happen to know who was in the washroom here last? And mentioned the obscene amount of pee

"Couldn't tell ya." The 50 some odd old man says

Okay I said.

I went back to grab a picture of the nasty incase the leaseholder who has already been giving us issues comes after us over it.

On the way back out I said to him I don't know who's mess that is but I'm not into cleaning after grown ass men.

"Okay." He says.

Ended up seeing the leaseholder outside and I shouldn't have but I stopped to show him the picture and explained that it wasn't us.

He snarled at me and said get the fuck away from me you goof.

I just walked away.

Grown men we're talking about here.

RTA exempt rights update regarding previous post.

Leaseholder who is a tenant in the house my girlfriend and I are renting from as roommates early this morning posted a tresspass notices at the top of our stairs, one for each of us.

The notices have the incorrect city which is crossed out and replaced with the correct one, the rest seems normal with the tenants signature at the bottom.

The cops have attended the property and know this tenant by name and the attending officer knew exactly which room of the house is his and we allegedly aren't the first he's done this to.

The two officers were completely torn into by this older man we're paying rent to, he went on about how we're not protected under the RTA and that he is a host and how many times does he have to have this talk with them.

They came back to us knowing we overheard every single bit of the commotion.

And said - "Well we think you can tell how that went."

They reassured us that we have rights and said to call if things escalate.

We have since called after receiving the tresspess and a 24 hour notice to leave the property, the police have yet to attend for the 2nd time since being called before 7am this morning to verify wether or not this tresspass order must be adhered to.

This older man took all of our money and even pushed the envelope to ask for more upon move in to which we had to decline to be able to afford basic needs for the month.

He didn't like this so he began escalating and invading privacy and restricting access to basic services and areas of the house.

- Not allowed to have window open in unfinished basement while the furnace is running, threatened us when we said we were going to keep it open.

- Changed lock on laundry room door to restrict access

- Came down into our rented space without any notice assuming we weren't home and verbally abused us on two separate occasions.

- Removed door handle leading down to basement knowing we have a cat and that without it the cat would be able to access the rest of the house.

- Threatened but has yet to put a deadbolt on the bathroom

This and more has all been documented so far and we've only been here two weeks, with two more weeks to go until we get into our new rental we are broke and out of options for an escape right.

Looking for general advice more than anything, do we brace ourselves to become homeless soon with our cat?

Paid $1200 for the month and tenant is threatening to change the locks and keep our money.

Failed to do background check on the older man we're renting from (who by proof isn't the landlord nor the property owner) and he has threatened us on more than one occasion with this morning ending on the statement that he was going to change the locks and when my girlfriend requested that he then return a portion of our money he outright said no he isn't going to. (All of this recorded.)

There is a post online of a previous tenant he had here just under a year ago whom he did the same thing to, took their last months rent and changed the locks on them.

Along with a slew of negative facebook reviews saying he is not a good person.

Middle of May with the furnace running full blast we had to have a window open down here and when he found out about the open window he threatened us to keep it closed and said "I don't want to have to tell you again."

One outlet in the entire basement we are running everything off of which is a fire hazard.

Moved in May 1st under the understanding that we were renting an entire unfinished basement (He said so over messages.) He's now saying to stay out of the other half of the unfinished basement and to move our belongings out of the corner into the already overcrowded other half of the basement. (He stood there this morning verbally yelling at me to move our belongings.)

Since he is not the property owner/landlord would it be beneficial at all to seek out the property owner through research and discuss what is happening?

My girlfriend and I have viewings to go to in order to attempt to leave and not be homeless, if we both go to a viewing we don't want to come back to be locked out of all of our belongings and our cat.

Girlfriend and I recently moved into the basement of a new build house.

At night every single light upstairs is turned off, there are two tables filled with potted plants close to the bathroom which could easily be bumped into in the darkness.

Not a fan of bringing my phone upstairs every single time to use as a flashlight.

So we plugged in a nightlight in the main floor bathroom to help assist at night- Every morning it's left unplugged on the bathroom counter.

Everybody else uses the upstairs bathroom at night and we use this one.

Wwyd in this circumstance? Not like a night light takes up a lot of hydro or anything

Why is someone being a dick.
