I’ll be visiting Kristiansand for a week (August 19-26) and I’m a bit unclear on how to pack. I live in the US in Charleston, SC and I’m wondering how much of my current beach/coastal wardrobe will translate to southern Norway or if I need to purchase items I may not already own.

How suitable is cotton and linen for the climate in Kristiansand in late August? Should I be prepared with any wool items like a long sleeve base layer or sweater? What about a heavy duty rain coat? And most importantly, will the water still be warm enough to swim in?

Thank you so much! It’s hard to find clothing tips for this area, so much of the information is about the colder climates!
