Imagine going on a trip to celebrate some random girls' birthday, and coming back as heir to the Iron Throne

The poor guy just wanted to joust and feast and instead his father died and his grandfather is on his way out. All because your cousin wanted to make headlines by being in a trial by seven.

Maekar was waay too soft on Aerion by just sending him away also. I don't understand how he wasn't punished harsher. Everyone seems to overlook poor Valarr.

Man I remember the first time I saw him on screen at the dinner party scene and imagined how bad-ass he was gonna be... Rip

Early impressions were I really liked this guy, he definitely gave off that impression that he was the Greens' answer to Daemon and the Blacks- the way he carried himself was interesting too, like you could tell he was kind of already a broken guy or teetering on the edge of mentally broken but he hid it underneath the guise of trying to be/wanting to be the best at everything and he still did it with swagger.

When he made the "cheers to Rhaenyra's bastards" toast all the way til when he accidentally killed Luke I was thinking how cool it was that we were gonna see this guy's story unfold and I was excited to see him serve as a great commander in the field for Aegon.

....but ooh boy. Good characters make you wonder so much about them including how you're gonna react to their deaths or victories/defeats and now I don't really feel anything for the guy. When I first learned how he was gonna go out back when we were first introduced to him I couldn't wait cause it sounded epic.

But I don't really feel anything for him tbh, like I don't think his death will be as impactful as certain other characters, I don't like how him and Aegon are friends again after he tried to kill him, cause it never should've happened in the first place, I don't like how the writers went into way too much graphic detail with his invented "mummy issues" dynamic with Alicent and yeah, I think they introduced him really well but really fucked his character up, second worse only to Alicent.

And because of his butchering I just feel like his last stand isn't gonna hit that hard- as much as I would want it to. I'm not gonna be happy about it like I (and I sure we all) will be when Alicent dies, but I don't think it's gonna hit that hard in the end when it absolutely should considering he's only 20 years old.

But yeah. Just wanted to speak my mind on this character and how initially well introduced and well written he was (both the child and adult version)

What sub-plot alteration/made-up sub-plot bothered you the most this season?

I was going to include Mysaria rolling with Rhaenyra despite her (Rhaenyra) not giving a shit about her or "DE SMOLFOWK" even though she (Mysaria) is supposedly a champion of the smallfolk, but I figured not to given that Hess' self insert character has had her sex scene and is now done- as opposed to these on-going everlasting and actual impactful/significant changes.

For me personally, it was a tie between Daeron basically being a Timid Tommen 2.0 and the show completely forgetting about the literal future King Aegon who takes over immediately after the Dance.

But yeah, which one of these subplots annoyed you the most? If you have any other ones- please list them/explain them in the comments!

She would sooner die than give in to Rhaenyra's delusional demands. Hope Aegon orders her statue built.

I'm writing this after I saw a post on Instagram saying that Rhaenyra loved Helaena the most out of all her siblings and supposedly sent generous terms to her in the book in regards to surrender. Which even if it was true, was purely just an obvious manipulation tactic to get her on side and use her against her brothers.

In the show, the one hung Helaena was spot-on about was that everything about Rhaenyra was ugly. And she never gave her any information about Aegon or Aemond even though she could have.

Roxton and Helaena are the Green MVPs this season for sure.

Some of these takes have me facepalming so hard honestly

What is this even supposed to insinuate? That just because Arya is a badass, she has to have gotten her badassery from some other "badass" young girl that we see on screen?

Some of these people really be talking out of their ass I swear.

u/OkGuava919 — 7 days ago

Even fucking Joffrey DGAF about Rhaenyra's "Aegon's Dream" bullshit lmao

Bro would rather be back in bed sleeping some more 🤣🤣😭

I meann... pretty much

She has no skill with a blade and her dragon is injured. How the fuck is she gonna "light the way"? With what? She's the only Dragonrider who's currently unable/unfit to ride and fight.

You have to admire the audacity though I suppose.

u/OkGuava919 — 13 days ago

Respectfully and unironically; what the fuck are they gonna have her do?

Is this just ceremonial? She's never been trained with the sword and she ran away when she saw a dragon attacking her dragon. What the fuck is she gonna do? Her bond with her dragon isn't even that strong compared to Daeron or Daemon's and it's not like she'd have a chance against Silverwig or Vermithor who were around since Maegor the Cruel.

Realistically the only dragon she can go toe to toe with at this point is Tessarion and MAYBE a wounded Sunfyre- but that's it. Plus if I recall, Syrax just got pummeled by Sheepstealer so she's barely in any condition to fight. And personally if I was Syrax I'd be pissed that my rider didn't bother checking on me after I got the crap kicked out of me.

Lord have mercy they're out her trying to emulate Visenya. She would be spinning in her grave like a particle accelerator.

Yeah she definitely seems like the type of person who would read this type of fanfic

Look at how enthusiastic this woman is when she talks about a "love triangle" with a twisted incestuous relationship of the highest level.

I know none of us here at TG take the show seriously and all but the way this woman overzealously insists it with all the excitement in her eyes is crazy.

Also, I notice so many writers and directors don't even know what "love triangle" means. It means when two people are in love with the same person. Alicent is not in love with Aemond, and Aemond and Alys are kind of just FWB's.

This is just a way to say "we wanted more sex and nudity" without also sounding like they need their computers checked by the cops or something.

u/OkGuava919 — 15 days ago

In case people were saying it was unfair we gave Rhaenyra shit for not paying attention to Syrax when she was getting pummeled by Sheepstealer;

She could've taken a second to assess her wounds here, or given her some cuddles, or told the Dragonkeepers to see to her wounds- but nah.

She didn't even bother to look at Syrax, she just wanted to lock Rhaena up straight away- and track down Mysaria for a stress-fuck after a hard day of doing nothing.

Not even Aegon would do that. As we've seen. She doesn't even gaf about her dragon anymore and there are still people who think she's a goated "Queen"

I know Condal and Hess are desperate af for Emma to get their Emmy and shit but... this scene may have undone all their "hard work"

Rhaenyra/Emma D'Arcy has had about 4 and a half hours of combined screentime in comparison to Aegon/TGC's 20 minutes and their performance has been lackluster no matter how hard C&H want to shove it in our faces

Once again, TGC comes through and turns his allocated 15-20 minutes of screentime per season into the most poignant moments of the show.

I know for a fact he isn't gonna get an Emmy because the showrunners deliberately sabotaged those chances by giving him next to no screentime, but unfortunately for them. You can't put hours of Rhaenyra up against Aegon and say it was close in regards to who was the most captivating and who brought the aura and charisma.

Watch them reduce TGC's screentime to 5 minutes next season now that they know 70% of show-only watchers are now Team Green 💀😭😂

u/OkGuava919 — 16 days ago

All of TB looking forward to Rhaenyra's scene with Mysaria in the next episode meanwhile I'm here waiting for this.

I can't wait man. I love how much aura TGC brings to Aegon and I can't wait for him and Sunny to burn that Rook's Rest settlement to the ground and yeet that asshole who made him kiss his shoes.

If they don't end the episode on his speech/make his speech the last scene, I won't be surprised but I'll be pissed off for sure. TGC has had a combined 15 minutes of screen time across a total 6 hours this season and it's led up to this part.

Am I the only one that thinks this romance could've been done so much better?

The sudden push of these two together as a romantic partnership is so inorganic. They could've made a kind of beautiful twisted romance, but instead- Alys heals him and is all over him. They should've built their relationship up slowly and had a moment between them in the finale coming up rather than two episodes into their meeting.

If it was a "slow burner" and they waited next season to kiss or make love like right before Aemond leaves to meet Daemon at the God's Eye- that would've been kind of touching and something I could've vibed with.

One thing I do want to ask tho, and this is more directed at GRRM- why did they pair them up in the first place? What made Aemond attractive to Alys? Did she use magic to indoctrinate/force him under her control or something? Cause I know Daemon never went to Hang out at Harrenhal in the books.

Ironically, the romance C&H are trying to build up (Alicent and Rhaenyra) is the worst one in the show 😂. But yeah. My point still stands. If they went slow with this relationship, it could've actually been the best in the show so far.

u/OkGuava919 — 21 days ago

By the end of the show, this woman will have fucked her husband's daughter, her best friend's father and kissed her son who literally tried to murder her other son.

I don't even have any more words for this character. Poor Olivia. Imagine you get a big break on an HBO show that is a spin-off of one of the best TV series ever made and....this is what your character is reduced to.

The showrunners are misogynists posing as feminists. Nothing more.

So what's the story here? Has there been a leak already? I haven't been on here for a few days.

I've heard a few times just on Instagram that Episode 7 of Season 3 is shaping up to unfortunately yet unsurprisingly be one of the worser-for-wear episodes that book enthusiasts are gonna hate.

Why is that? I've heard stuff ranging from Rhaenyra and Mysaria fucking all the way to some stuff with Alicent and Aemond again at Harrenhal.

With all this in mind, does it mean that Aegon and Sunny won't appear until the season finale? I originally thought it was going to be in the episode but there hasn't been a single redeeming moment or scene that early critics have praised. And based on the leaked audio, that was one HELL of a speech from TGC.

But yeah. My point stands. What are the leaks if there have been any? What makes this episode supposedly the worst since the Septa Rhaenyra episode? Please enlighten me!

Guys I think I found the worst ever take so far in the history of HOTD and GOT combined. Look at this!!!!

u/OkGuava919 — 24 days ago

Daemon was such a moron for this

Imagine your city is already falling apart, your friends are being massacred, you have no money, your wife is clearly not interested in you or herself or anyone else, and you go and take your anger out of one of the few loyal subjects you have left who also happens to ride the third largest dragon in the world.

I know it's totally a thing to take your anger out on the closest guy next to you when things get grim and all but, for someone who's supposedly an expert at winning wars and all, he's even better at making enemies in the first place.

Even though it was Rhaenyra's shitty idea to keep Ulf basically on lockdown, if he's gonna be continually bullied by Daemon, which he will, then of course, when he does finally betray the Blacks, it will be DAEMON'S fault.

People say her accent sucks but is it just me, or does she virtually change it every season/scene?

Thought I'd take a break from bashing Alicent and show some love to Walmart Varys here.

Every season it has been changed. Season 1 was a hybrid British/French accent, season 2 it was an British/Australian accent and now it's like some weird Australian/French thing. Is that why It sucks? For me it breaks the immersion so bad and it makes it look like the actress isn't confident/doesn't care. People gave Shae's actress a hard time for her accent but it sounded fine to me and was at least consistent. Can't say the same about this one.

I don't know where she's supposed to be from? Lys? Essos? Meereen? Lorath? The fact that the actress tries to aura-farm every time she walks in the room or talks also makes me facepalm so bad I can't. I understand that she is Sara Hess' self insert but if Hess cared enough she would at least make sure the actress got some lessons on enunciations/accent.

Also, I don't agree with Daemon at all with pretty much anything but I did enjoy him telling Mysaria to shut up when she tried to butt in on a conversation Rhaenyra was in in episode 4.

Is she gonna have a hand in the death of literally ALL her children? (In the show)

She is already indirectly responsible for Aegon nearly burning to death because of her goading and guilt-tripping pep-talk which motivated him to prove himself, and we've seen how gradually detached and reckless she's become as the show progresses;

- Alicent has attempted to get Helaena to abort Maelor, and she's more than ready to abandon Jaehaera in the name of getting herself and Helaena out of the city, something that Helaena was clearly horrified by.

- Aegon is out to kill Rhaenyra, Alicent's true love (in the show) and she (Alicent) herself has already been in league with Dyana, one of Aegon's "r*pe" victims- who has access and knowledge of the Red Keep.

- We see her in the teaser trailer arriving at Harrenhal, (how that's even possible I don't even know)- which is where Aemond currently is, and Aemond being the one who has major mummy issues may have some sort of change of heart or be swayed to do something by Alicent.

- We see she's been in contact with Ormund whilst pretending to be Aemond, she's aware that he is on the move with Daeron and has sacked Tumbleton. It is more than likely she will also show up there and reunite with Daeron either late this season or early next season and try to talk him out of fighting.

Will this all amount to her essentially having a hand in the death of all her own children? We already know she hates them and their "warmongering ways" - plus from the writers point of view it may serve as some sick version of "poetic justice" I.e - getting rid of the children she never wanted to have in the first place.

Let me know what y'all think below!
