What are my next steps?

So I have written my first manuscript (if you can call it that) for what I envision will be a children’s illustrated storybook series. However I am no illustrator, let alone author, and I have no idea what my next steps should be. However do I get illustrations? Do I need an editor or something? Is there an actual site that works well with first-time authors? I feel completely lost but I feel a desire to get this story (and maybe stories) out there. Any and all advice is welcome. Thank you in advance!

New player nicknames?

I know everyone is so excited for the Bears seemingly eventual move to Hammond. I’m a NorCal based fan and daily I hear it from the Santa Clara Niner fans out here (despite the travel time from Solider to Hammond being half to go from SF to Levi) but I have to admit they’ve come up with some good new nicknames for some of the players. My current favorite is my coworker referring to Caleb as the Hammond Hurler. Have you guys heard any good ones?

Divorced Parent/Father groups

Hey everyone. Not sure this is the right forum to post this so Mods feel free to take down if I’m in the wrong spot.

Anyway, long story short I’m going through a divorce, not here to post/vent about that. But I was wondering if anyone in here had any information on local divorced parent or divorced father groups. I live out in Rancho Cordova and work in Davis. Just looking for some community of people going through similar events as myself.

Thank you everyone in advance for any feedback and I hope y’all have a great week!

[M4F] 37 | #Corvallis, OR. In Corvallis this week for work and looking to meet up with some locals

How’s it going r4r?! Any redditors here live in the Corvallis, OR area? I’m visiting here for work and looking to meet some locals to check out different dinning options, grab drinks, maybe hit some live music or trivia or anything that is a good time! Not looking for anything in particular just looking for some good company and getting to know some new people, maybe make some new friends! During the week I have work 8-4 each day but I’m completely free after that! Even if you aren’t available to hang out but have some suggestions of places to check out or try I am open to suggestions!

Thank you in advance and I’m excited to visit your area this week!

Jumped to the trades - 37m

For some context during 2007-2017 I graduated high school as well as college; I also worked various second jobs as well as had internships as I tried to make inroads to the career I thought I wanted (BA in Political Science) I just listed the job I maintained throughout that time because it was paid the majority of the bills. At 28 I got fed up with the direction my life was going and I took that courier job because it seemed like a good job to have while I figured out my next move. Little did I know it would introduce me to my new career. I started off getting by getting my drinking water operator certifications (I’m located in California) and it just took off from there. I bounced around a lot in my early years, mostly moving to new and better opportunities, made the jump from operations to control systems and took a job early last year that I honestly could see myself retiring at. It’s been quite the journey but I am proud of it.

Keep or grow back?

Let me start by saying I have rocked a full beard in some fashion since 2011. This week I had a respirator fit test at work, not the first time I’ve had to do this. However, because of the nature of my position I haven’t once had to actually use a respirator and in the past my employer let me just trim the beard down so long as I passed the test. This year I thought to myself I’d throw caution to the wind and see my chin again for the first time in 15 years. I’m not going to lie, gut reaction is I hated how I appeared. In fact I was going to do a full shave but decided to leave the mustache for my mental health. However over the past week I have received a lot of compliments on my appearance and on the mustache so now I’m torn on what to do. So I figured why not solicit the opinions of total strangers on the internet?! The pictures I’ve included are from the day before I shaved last Saturday, and one I took today. Any and all feedback is welcomed. Thank you in advance and I hope yall have a great day!

Seeking Driver Help

Hey r/golftips

I am sure this has been a topic covered a lot here and I will do some digging after this post, but I just joined for this reason. My driver game is atrocious, but that is largely my fault because side I’ve never put in my work to get it figured out. For the most part I either hitting a wicked slice or I’m sending up straight moonshots. I played in my first scramble tournament the other day and while I had a blast doing it, I felt some embarrassment teeing off on the long holes. So I’m going to approach this thing from square one. Is there any advice or videos that any of you would recommend I start with? I’m balling on a budget so right now professional lessons aren’t really in my budget, plus I’m more a casual golfer but I’d like to take my game a little more seriously. My plan is to spend a couple days a week at the range focusing on driving to develop some good, consistent form. Any and all advice is welcomed and thank you in advance!
