Best Gen of tundra

Hello all! What is your favorite generation of tundra and why? My husband is a fan of the 1st and 2nd gen and I like the 3rd gen just due to the factor that they are newer so they will be easier to find with less miles

We are wanting to find one under $15k in the South West of Arizona. What should we make sure has already been done to the truck before we purchase it? How many miles would make you weary for what gen? Trying to do as much research as I can.

We also don’t need any fancy bells or whistles, it won’t be used to towing, and if it is it wouldn’t be for a couple of years. Thank you all!

Which Second Gen

Okay Sequoia lovers, we are hunting for a new family car, we are wanting an earlier second gen that we can pay cash for to have no car payment. That being said which trim would you go for? SR5, Limited, Platinum? I don’t really need all the fancy bells and whistles but tv screens may be nice. Additionally how many miles would make you weary of getting an earlier second gen? I would love to be lucky enough to find one with low miles and a lower price but I doubt that will happen. Thanks!

4Runner or Sequoia ?

We had a 2018 Toyota 4Runner Limited for about 6 months as our family car and absolutely loved it, but unfortunately it got totaled. After that we got another truck, but we’re really wanting to get back into a Toyota for our family vehicle.

This time around, though, we’d really like to get away from car payments and buy an older generation in cash. We only plan on having two kids, but having a third row is definitely a bonus for road trips, family visits, extra friends, etc.

So for those of you who’ve owned either (or both), what would you recommend: a Toyota 4Runner or a Toyota Sequoia?

I’m genuinely open to both. The Sequoias seem like an amazing value because you can often get the same year/miles cheaper than a 4Runner, but the fuel economy worries me a little since they seem to drink gas. On the other hand, 4Runners hold their value so well that they seem noticeably more expensive for the same mileage and year.

Also, at what mileage would you personally start to hesitate on buying one? I know Toyotas can last forever if they’re maintained well, especially here in Arizona where rust usually isn’t a huge issue, but I’d still love to hear what mileage range people are comfortable buying in.

Located in Arizona if that helps with pricing/market advice. Thanks!
