AFL Fandom in Sydney?
I’m a fan of multiple codes (union, league etc) and have been following AFL for the last couple of years. I know that there’s a bit of a divide between states when it comes to AFL (Barassi Line?). I’d love to know a bit more about Sydney/NSW when it comes to AFL. The Swans seem to be quite a large team in terms of supporters and crowd attendance and now with a second Sydney team, is the sports growing in the city/state? Is it normal to be an AFL supporter in Sydney or is it a bit weird? I’ve read a bit about how people are either NRL or AFL with few people liking/following both. Can an Aussie explain to me the ‘state’ of AFL in Sydney/NSW?
