So I've been helping at a dental practice for a while and theres one thing I've noticed recently. More patients are asking about products they can use between hygiene visits instead of only asking about brushing and flossing.

A few have brought in a teeth cleaning kit they bought online and wanted to know if they were using it safely. Some felt it helped with surface stains, while others admitted they weren't confident they were using it correctly. It made me realize these conversations are becoming more common.

We try to give balanced advice without dismissing what patients already own. At the same time, we don't want anyone thinking every tool sold online is appropriate for home use.

I even looked through a few online just to understand what patients are seeing before they come in. It was useful for context, but it didn't make the recommendations any easier.

I'm curious how other practices handle these questions. Do you discuss these products in detail, recommend against most of them or simply encourage patients to stick with regular professional cleanings and good daily oral hygiene?
