What if Republic of Ragusa (today's Dubrovnik) remained an autonomous republic to this day?

Republic of Ragusa maintained independence for nearly 450 years through trade, diplomacy and fortification. Was also one of the first early states to recognise the US.

Today is part of Croatia, and is a tourist destination. What would it look like as an independent state if it was still?

Starting biologics - please help

Hi UC fam,

I (M26) have moderate pancolitis, diagnosed 4 months ago.

I have an intolerance to Mesalazine so the next step is biologics.

I wanted to ask which type of Biologics did you guys start with?

I said to my Gastro doctor that I read that Rinvoq was good for some people and he first said he would start me on that. I don't know if it is only because I mentioned it first.

Please let me know your stories for the start of biologics, also if you had any side effects, benefits, etc.

Thank you

Mesalazine doesn't help, but corticosteroids do?

Hi everyone,

I have mild ulcerative colitis, but along my entire large colon. I tried mesalazine for a week and it nearly killed me, I lost weight and went to bathroom maybe +8 a day (rushing and waking up at night)

I have stopped (under doctors order), and have been only taking the oral tablet of corticosteroids and the foam up the butt.

Since, I have maybe 1 toilet visit a day, although it is still soft stool.

Is it possible to enter remission from corticosteroids only?

I don't know yet any of my triggers so I just eat homemade chicken sandwiches.

Any advice is very appreciated.

Thank you

Hi guys,

I had a bad reaction to Mesalazine, waiting for an update on the next steps.

Was curious if any of you had food only help. Although I have a mild-severe inflammation to my entire colon.

Thank you for your input.
