TL;DR: Tried changing billing cycle to 1st of every month because RP refresh is calendar-month based. SBI rejected the request multiple times with different reasons every single time — dues pending, due date not passed, outstanding amount not zero, etc. Feels ridiculously complicated for such a basic request.

So the reward points refresh on calendar month basis and not according to the statement cycle. Because of that, I thought it would make more sense to move my billing cycle to the 1st of every month.

I raised a billing cycle change request on 3rd May. After 2 days it got rejected saying I had outstanding dues. Found it a bit weird because literally no other bank has ever created an issue for something this basic, but fine, I paid the bill and raised the request again.

Second rejection. This time they said I need to wait till the payment due date passes.

At this point I was already confused. Like why does the due date matter for a simple billing cycle change?

Still stayed patient and waited.

Today I called again to request the change and now they’re saying I need to have ZERO outstanding amount to process it.

Bro what even is this process 😭

It’s a billing cycle change request, not a visa interview at the embassy.

Do they seriously expect customers to stop using the card completely from statement generation date till due date just to change the cycle? Every other bank I’ve dealt with does this instantly or at least without all these bizarre conditions.

Is this normal with SBI PhonePe cards? Has anyone here successfully changed their billing cycle without going through this circus?
