Gracias.

UK Global Talent Visa (Digital Tech – Exceptional Promise) — Profile Review?

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate a sense check on my profile before applying for the Global Talent visa UK under the digital tech route (previously via Tech Nation).

My profile (summary):

  • Current role: Freelance Influencer Marketing Manager / Community Manager working with UK-based agencies and global brands
  • Experience: 8+ years in social media & influencer marketing
  • Focus: Multi-market campaigns + localisation (Spain, UK, Italy, LATAM)

Recent work:

  • At Kids Know Best (UK):
    • Led influencer campaigns for brands like Hasbro and Spin Master
    • Managed end-to-end execution (strategy, creator sourcing, briefing, approvals)
    • Campaigns reached 10M+ combined views across Spain & Italy
  • At Leo Burnett UK:
    • Community management & social listening for global brands (e.g. Kellogg’s)
    • Supported influencer activations and creator sourcing
  • Previous roles:
    • Led influencer strategy in Spain/Portugal
    • Managed cross-market campaigns and creator partnerships

Other details:

  • Strong experience working across international markets
  • No major press/publications about me personally
  • I can likely secure 3 recommendation letters (UK client, founder, ex-manager)

Questions:

  1. Does a profile like this (influencer marketing / social media, non-technical) realistically qualify under Exceptional Promise in digital tech?
  2. Would this be better positioned under commercial impact rather than innovation?
  3. How important is having media recognition (press/articles), given I work mostly behind the scenes?
  4. Are campaign results (views, engagement, multi-market work) usually strong enough as evidence?
  5. Any advice on how to position this kind of profile so it doesn’t come across as too execution-focused?

I’ve seen a lot of advice here about narrative and strong evidence, so I’m trying to understand if I’m in the right range before investing more time into the application.

Any feedback would be really appreciated 🙏

Hi everyone 👋

I’ve been researching the Global Talent visa (digital tech route, previously via Tech Nation) and would really appreciate some honest feedback on my profile before I apply.

My background:

  • 8+ years in influencer marketing / social media
  • Currently working freelance with UK-based agencies and clients
  • Experience across Spain, UK, Italy, and LATAM markets
  • Focus on multi-market influencer campaigns and localisation

Recent work examples:

  • At Kids Know Best (UK), I led influencer campaigns for brands like Hasbro and Spin Master across Spain, Italy, and Mexico → ~10M+ combined views across campaigns → End-to-end ownership: strategy, talent sourcing, briefing, execution
  • At Leo Burnett UK → Community management + social listening for global brands (e.g. Kellogg’s) → Support on influencer activations and creator sourcing
  • Previous roles include leading influencer strategy in Spain/Portugal and managing campaigns across multiple markets

My current situation:

  • I’m considering applying under Exceptional Promise
  • I can likely get 3 recommendation letters from:
    • UK-based Head of Influencer Marketing (current client)
    • Founder (client-side)
    • Former manager (agency)

My doubts:

  1. Does this kind of profile (influencer marketing / social media, not engineering) realistically get approved under digital tech?
  2. Would my work count more under “commercial impact” rather than innovation?
  3. I don’t have press/articles about me personally — how critical is that?
  4. Is multi-market campaign work + performance metrics (views, engagement, etc.) usually enough as evidence?
  5. Any tips on how to position this kind of profile so it doesn’t sound “too executional”?

I’ve read a lot of posts here about focusing on narrative and strong evidence, so I’m trying to sense-check whether I’m in the right ballpark before investing time and money.

Any feedback (even blunt) would really help 🙏

Hi everyone,

I’m currently exploring the Global Talent visa and was wondering if anyone here has gone through the process within marketing, social media or influencer marketing.

I have 8+ years of experience working with global brands and agencies across the UK and Europe, mostly in influencer marketing and social campaigns, and I’m trying to understand how realistic this route is for someone in my field.

A few questions in case anyone has insight:

  • Has anyone in marketing / social / influencer space successfully applied?
  • What kind of evidence was most important (campaign results, press, awards, etc.)?
  • Did you use a lawyer or apply on your own?
  • Any tips on how to position your work in a stronger way?

Also, if anyone has recommendations for good advisors or resources, that would be super helpful.

Thanks so much in advance! 🙏
