Typhoon Lagoon vs Blizzard Beach

On our check in day we plan to head to one of the waterparks. It’s just my husband and I, we’ve been to Disney several times but never the water parks, I’m not crazy about wave pools, we like slides but prefer ones we can go on together or with a tube (body slides hurt), and we LOVE a lazy river. I heard both of their lazy rivers are great, so I’m not sure what to choose.

Financially Struggling

My fiancé and I are 30 years old and don’t seem to be doing as financially well as other DINKS our age. He had a lot of private student loan debt that could not be consolidated, so he is in chapter 13 bankruptcy. He makes about 70k/year, I am a Veterinary Technician and make about 50k/year. We have a very small home that needs a lot of work, but we can’t afford to fix it up. We also really wanted to travel more like other DINKS our age, but we can’t afford to do that either.

I feel like this should be a freeing time of my life, but I have never felt more financially trapped. Not being able to afford to go anywhere or do anything besides going to work has also affected my mental health. Our “friends” make comments about the size of our home and that it’s outdated, which makes me feel like a failure.

Just seeing if there were other DINKS out there feeling the financial pressure.

Chapter 13 and Student Loans

I’m about 1.5 years into my 60 month bankruptcy. Most of my student loans were private loans. I am feeling worried about what life will look like after this is done. I had about 70k that went into this bankruptcy. The NDC website that has all my info talks about how much you have paid into it, not how much is left. I know interest can still accrue, ao I’m scared I’m still going to be in a bad spot. I’m hesitant to reach out to my lawyer about this because every time I send an email and they respond, it’s a fee.

I would love to hear any stories of successes and failures from others who have been in the same situation as me. I’m hoping to come out of the othet side of this, I just feel so trapped.
