Typhoon Lagoon vs Blizzard Beach

On our check in day we plan to head to one of the waterparks. It’s just my husband and I, we’ve been to Disney several times but never the water parks, I’m not crazy about wave pools, we like slides but prefer ones we can go on together or with a tube (body slides hurt), and we LOVE a lazy river. I heard both of their lazy rivers are great, so I’m not sure what to choose.

If you’re in your 30’s and a mom what are you wearing to the parks in the summer?

Typically we go in the cooler months and I get to wear all of my favorite outfits. But this time we’re going in September and I know it’s going to still be quite hot. I picked up a few athletic wear skorts/dresses but that’s not really my vibe. I love flowy/twirly dresses and things like that.

ETA: I’m a mom of a little one (preschool age). So I need to be able to lift, carry and keep up with him in it 😂

Rooms at GF

are there larger rooms at the premium resorts? I have stayed at several including the GF and they just leave a lot to be desired

Rafiki’s Planet Watch?

Last year, my husband and I went to Rafiki’s and had a lot of fun with the drawing of Disney characters. (Actually got some pixie dust, I asked the worker when they’d be drawing Donald Duck as he’s my favorite character. I came back later, and he actually drew a Donald Duck portrait for me. It’s on my desk.)

Currently, it’s closed due to the Bluey thing. Does anyone know if it’ll reopen?

ETA: Conservation Station! That’s what it’s called.

Fire works live streams tonight

It looks like the parks blog isn't broadcasting the fireworks. Does anyone know of any influencers who will be broadcasting from Magic Kingdom or Epcot?

We have some friends at Disney World today, at Epcot. They’re watching the Voices of Liberty sing. Here’s a short clip. They told me that this is the most crowded they’ve seen it, on July 4, in their last 5 years!

EPCOT 4th Fireworks

Greetings from the All Star Sports pool! We are having fomo about potentially missing EPCOT’s show as this was our heat rest day and the plan is to end at MK tomorrow.

  1. would you say the holiday special is a must-see? We have seen “regular” Luminous before (and think it’s great!) but the holiday add-on is what’s causing FOMO.

  2. if we don’t just bite the bullet and pay for another park day 😬, are there any good places around resorts to see the show and maybe Red, White, Blue Spaceship Earth? I know I could look on a map, but hearing rumors that Polynesian is blocking people from doing that for MK.

What is the name of the song that plays in the background of the 50's scene in Carousel of Progress?

What is the name for the song that plays at the beginning of the 1950's scene in the carousel of progress? Anyone know? I've been searching for the name of this song for years but all I ever find is the theme song for the ride, "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow".

Maybe the song was written for the ride and doesn't exist? I was hoping it does and maybe there's sheet music somewhere, I'd like to play this on piano.

It's the song playing in the background here

Told my toddler we were going to a parade this morning

She was so so excited because she thought that Mickey and Minnie would be there and so so upset when it ended and they weren't there. The fire truck with a flag on it is not as exciting. #DisneyKidProbs
