Hey Nick, remind us again how we wouldn’t believe how much money you were going to win on Brazil?

Hey Nick, remind us again how we wouldn’t believe how much money you were going to win on Brazil?

Total degenerate gambler. What do we think he lost this World Cup? 20k on Spain, 30k more on Brazil trying to win his money back?

Is he going to bad beat brag on every show tomorrow? Hop on FTF, Cowherd, Simmons, YouTube and tell the same story about how he made the right read and it was like picking money up off the ground again? The bragging about gambling losses piece. I can afford to lose 6 figures!

What is the annual pass holder exclusive entrance from 8am-12pm? And Epic discounts?

I’ve been a pass holder for years and have never seen this. Is there a secret line to get in?

It also says one day Epic passes up to 40% off? Is it really ever 40% off or what’s the typical discount?

Planning my first ever cruise, why wouldn’t I just go on the biggest RC ship?

I really don’t know anything about cruises and wanted to try one out for the experience on a quick 3 day Bahamas trip out of Miami and looking at the giant RC ships (Icon/Oasis class) makes me go “wow”. I see smaller and cheaper cruises with RC or NCL for maybe $100 less but what’s the point? If I’m going with one of those cruise lines isn’t bigger better?

Has anyone here ever gone on one of the big ships and then preferred riding on the smaller ships?

Edit: I will add I was comparing Oasis vs NCL Getaway (the small ship in this situation), is there a big difference between those 2?

I tried uncrustables and they aren’t that great

A soggy pb&j sandwich? What are we doing here? I have to question everything CR says now.

I’ve watched more soccer in the last 2 weeks than I have in my entire life

I work from home and have the World Cup on as background noise all day. I’ve watched almost every game, and honestly, I still don’t really like soccer.

Most games blend together. The better team controls the ball and attacks, while the weaker team sits back and grinds out a 0-0 or tries to nick a goal on a counter. Even the knockout games this week that looked good on paper weren’t. Mexico/Ecuador and France/Sweden were blowouts. Ecuador had a 20 minute stretch of just passing it around midfield, finished with one shot on target. Germany did almost nothing.

The only fun games have been Argentina and France, because they’re clearly better and it shows. They actually create chances. It’s the games where one team is just a little better and dominates possession without getting shots off that lose me.

When someone misses the net, I’m into it. “Woah, nice shot.” Goals are great. But the buildup in between? Hard to care.

I know the instinct is “you just don’t understand the game,” but I’ve given it a fair shot. Has anyone actually converted into a soccer fan as an adult, or is this just a sport you need to grow up with?

Anyone drive to a game at Hard Rock Stadium? How long does it take to drive there/get in from Kendall?

My friend wants to drive to the game tomorrow from Kendall and leave 2 hours early... I told him we will miss half the game and should leave 4 hours early or find another way to get there to skip parking / whatever other delays there are around the stadium but he is stubborn and keeps saying dos horas.

What do you think?

Completed passes is the biggest participation medal stat in sports

Why is completed passes one of the big three stats they always show in soccer, right up there with shots on target and total shots? I said the Turkiye/Paraguay game was boring and someone smugly replied that it wasn’t boring because they had 550 completed passes as if that means something? Completed passes just confirm that the game is still happening.

Imagine if people arguing about NBA brought up completed passes. Jayson Tatum missed a 3 to tie the game but let’s talk about the 24 passes he successfully completed including that solid chest pass he made to the other Jay during the first quarter.

All the sports betting ads finally got to me

I’ve always turned off Simmons’ pods when gambling talk comes on because it is boring as all hell. I also remember watching ufc with friends who would barely look at the screen while live betting every round and I’d be sitting there drinking my beer and thinking they were the biggest morons alive. Also had gym buddies ask me if I watched the Knicks game and I’d start talking about the game only to be told “I hate the NBA but won $50” eesh…

I guess the nonstop bombardment of ads has finally worked on me. I deposited $50 for the $300 bonus and started putting small bets on World Cup games thinking since I hated soccer maybe it would give me some incentive to watch the games. I actually like soccer now thanks to sports betting plus I’ve won around $500 with the bonus. I don’t think I’m the type to get addicted to sports betting so fingers crossed on that one buddy.

Nick Wright telling everyone he lost $20k by betting on Spain is pretty funny though gotta say… “they are -1400 it’s like picking up $1500 off the ground”… I played a lot of poker and why do gamblers have to tell everyone their bad beat stories?

FOX put 3 egomaniacs on the same desk

Lalas has been annoying since he was doing guest bits on Jim Rome 20 years ago, he’s only the face of American soccer commentary because nobody gave a rats ass about soccer 20 years ago and he was the only one doing it. Thierry Henry acts like everything he says should be framed and put in the soccer half of fame. Zlatan is just absolutely insufferable, he refers to himself in the 3rd person, makes everything about himself and yet his commentary is the most boring thing on the broadcast. Why’d they put the most unlikeable guy in all of the commercials and make him the face of the World Cup? That’s like putting Draymond Green as the face of the NBA. Is this the Mount Rushmore of annoying soccer assholes? Who would be 4th? Luis Suarez?

Damonza playing for Netherlands?

When Nick said Damonza was away working on a secret project I didn’t think he was talking about playing at the World Cup.

Did they put Simmons in charge of creating US Soccer chants?

These might be the cringiest chants I’ve ever seen outside of @CelticsChants. There’s 4 pages of these for fans to memorize…

Edit: Personally I’m a just a fan of U-S-A, U-S-A! We don’t do chants in this country.

Am I weird for not caring about Disney food or hotels? I’m there for the rides and atmosphere!

I’ve been to Disney probably 6 times now and I’ve only eaten at a sit down restaurant once (a burger and Wookie Cookie) plus a couple of random pretzels. I always stay at the All-Star resorts because they are the cheapest and I don’t do anything at the hotel except leave my stuff and sleep. I’m just not interested in exploring a hotel or wasting time at restaurants, I am there to visit Disney and to enjoy the atmosphere and the rides from opening to closing time.

I usually do 2 weekend trips with a park hopper addon so that I can do all 4 parks twice whenever they have the 4 day resident pass deal. Day 1 I pack sandwiches, drinks and drink a protein shake and XXL coffee in the morning before driving to Disney from Miami and have snacks on Day 2 (beef jerky, fruit snacks, granola bars) and maybe hit a fast food joint on the way home.

Hold up, they were up 95-75 with 9 minutes left?

I checked the score graph and I thought the Knicks chipped it down a lot more in the 3rd like in the 12-14 point range. How the hell do the Spurs blow a 20 point lead in 9 minutes? How do you get outscored 32-11 in 9 minutes, what were they even doing? Let the clock run down!

KAT is holding Wemby every single play!!

I was wondering why Wemby doesn't get in the paint more and started watching Wemby every play and KAT has both hands on him pushing him and holding him outside the 3 point line. That's some bullshit defence especially from a guy who fouls out of a lot of games... he sure is getting a lot of leeway this series. Pardon the gif quality, I was recording my tv.

The MSG crowd is weak

Everyone was hyping up the crowd before the game, how they would be the difference. Charles said the Spurs better not fall behind because the crowd would get crazy. I’m not impressed, in fact the MSG crowd ain’t shit, they’re the same as any other crowd in the league.
