I'm sceptical of this one. Blade Runner is a top three movie for me so it's something I care very much about. Nothing since has captured that same type of atmosphere and mood as the original film. 2049 left me cold like a lot of Villeneuve movies do, but what if it's good?!

Listened on Android PocketCast app, got to the part where Andy says something like "some things are ludicrous in a good way," continued about :30, then jumped back to the ludicrous comment and continued to the end. Was that a PocketCast or an editing glitch?

Can someone please point me in the direction of (if it exists) a Letterboxd for cigars and/or cigarettes, etc.? Curious if this even exists.

I saw The Odyssey this week on 70mm (regular, not IMAX). I thought it was really loud and too dark (or maybe I have a cataract), but all in all I enjoyed the film and thought it was "A-" production.

Quick question: was I the only one who thought to themself throughout the first couple of hours of the film, "Hey, I didn't know Timothy Olyphant was in this movie?" But then in the final hour when I began to wonder when John Leguizamo was going to appear, it finally dawned on me, "Oops, that's been him - not Olyphant - all along " I told y'all it was too dark for me me. Lol

The last segment of the latest Watch episode got me thinking, has The Ringer ever had a dedicated show about novels?

I imagine there’s a relatively small market for it, but still feels like a blind spot considering how many outspoken big readers there seem to be among the Film/TV hosts, especially Andy and Amanda.

Chris mentioned a band who are friends of his are putting together something and asked him to write the liner notes. Has he said who anywhere?

Is it The Promise Ring or someone like that from the scene he was in?

Loved Chris’ writing. Would enjoy reading him again regardless of what he’s writing about.

I haven’t been able to keep up with the pod as much recently. Have Chris or Andy given any new book recommendations?

They recommended Colored Television and Play World around this time last year and I loved them both. CR also introduced me to Patrick Hoffman who is now one of my favorite authors.

Just curious if they’ve given any new recommendations recently that I may have missed.

Anybody else feel that too??
