I’ll be traveling to visit my mom to help her recover from a surgery so I’ll be there about 3 weeks. I’d love to make some connections as I don’t really know anyone there in the community. My mom’s family isn’t Jewish (though my cousin used to work at the West Hartford JCC) so it’s not like I can rely on them.
About me: late 30s, cis, gay, bearish guy from Oregon. Some mobility issues (janked my knee bad a few years ago) but will have access to a car.
Ok so this may be because I’m a little relaxed on the devil’s lettuce but watching Season 3 Episode 6 where Miss Lane falls ill and they have to man the post office without her has an oddly Diskworld vibe to it and I can’t explain why. Probably just me.
Watching through Lark Rise to Candleford (could there be a more Period Drama sounding name) and I have to admit I’m enchanted.
I mostly started this thread to point out that the costume for Mrs. Arless is both hysterically inaccurate (like even the most destitute wouldn’t walk around in just their underwear) but also the whole vibe the costume manages to gather up is “that one trailer park mom who wears a muumuu and curlers everywhere” and it somehow just works

I just started watching Doctor Thorne and they are at a ball and I swear Bridgerton warped my brain because I was like “ohh shiiii! That’s a real waltz!” And got oddly excited for proper ballroom music lol (no hate on Bridgerton love that show)
