Find out I have an intra-abdominal desmoid tumor (20M)
I found it a year ago, went to the ER after I felt a sharp pain. It felt hard and the size of a marble. They tested my blood and pee not knowing what it was. The doctor then said it was just me pulling a muscle while working. They never suggested a scan while I was there, I've also never had a medical history so I wasn't smart enough to ask for a scan myself. Then a few months later I noticed it was larger probably double the size. I went to urgent care since my primary doctor was gone. They also said it was a muscle pull and sent me to PT, again not suggesting a scan. (I was still dumb back then too and didn't request it). During these months I was depressed and felt almost nothing, if something were to happen to me I wouldn't have cared. Therefore, I didnt get it checked again up until a few months ago. I had gotten a girlfriend and started caring more about my health. I wanted to get it checked out again ASAP. Especially now that I know it's obviously grown in size. Got an ultrasound first, and a CT scan a few days later, then went to talk to a surgeon (ordered by a doctor). The surgeon said I should get a biopsy to figure out what it is. Which should have been done a long time ago. I wish I hadn't made poor choices and now I'm getting hit with the result of them. "Likely internal enhancement measuring 11.5 cm x 7 cm in greatest axial dimension, with a craniocaudal extent of 13.5" is what my CT scan showed. It hurts a lot but still manageable to deal with. I'm not really sure what to think about when it comes to the next step. I still have another meeting with the surgeon to hear what he has to say and I have an appointment with my primary doctor soon as well. I highly doubt they can take it out with surgery, what treatment should I look into if you've had a similar experience.
