My Super Nintendo keeps randomly restarting multiple times, but only with Super FX games.
So... I'm having a strange problem with my SNES. I recently took it out to play some games, and everything was fine until I decided to play Stunt Race FX. For some reason, with this game, the SNES keeps rebooting on the start screen, making the game unplayable.
None of my other games have this problem, not even the Super Game Boy. I tested some of the other cartridges and they work just fine, so I believe it's not a problem with the console.
A friend of mine told me that it's possibly a problem with the power supply, that it's not sending enough voltage that games using special chips on the SNES usually need. I've had this power supply for over 10 years and it's not original, but it's 9V DC.
Could that be the problem? I've seen people who usually use a 12V DC one, should I try to find one like that?
