Neapolitan ice treat

I finally have one to share!

This was a frozen treat, about the size of a bar of soap. It was a non-creamy vanilla concoction (kind of like frozen vanilla soda) with chocolate chips mixed in. Pressed into the top were three wafer cookie bars: one chocolate, one vanilla, and one strawberry.

When broken, it quickly began to disintegrate into a slush-like substance, so it was known you leave it in the wrapper while breaking pieces off, then drink the rest.

It was becoming controversial on social media, bc while it was a long-time favorite of Brits, the Americans introduced to it had mixed reactions.

Guys... come on 😅

Just got a call, 1 am. It says private number, and I'm worried it's an emergency, so i answer.

Woman: hi, ummmm?

Me: who is this?

Woman: so umm

Guy in background: tell her it's Tyler

Woman: so Tyler wants to know what you want from Taco Bell.

Me: I think you have the wrong number.

Woman: he just gave me this number

Me: ok. Can you ask Tyler who he's trying to contact?

Woman to man: who are you trying to contact?

Guy in background who we have now established to be Tyler: I AM TRYING TO TALK TO AMANDA TO FIND OUT WHAT SHE WANTS

Woman: he's trying to talk to Amanda because-

Me: so I'm not Amanda. You have the wrong number.

Woman: I apologize. [To Tyler:] this isn't her. This is a wrong number [back to me:] I'm sorry. He just gave me this number

Me: no worries, enjoy your Taco Bell

Woman: oh I'm doordashing

Tyler: *yelling numbers in the background*

Me: -end call-

I legit thought I was talking to drunk people picking up food for their friend. Nope, 2 adults struggling to do a one-person job lol

Square dancing

Anywhere to go for square dancing, or a place with country-western vibes?

I have two friends in town this weekend (one from Europe, one from Asia) and I don't know the scene, but thought it would be a fun Kansas activity to get in some steps 🤠

I'm lost without the Electric Cowboy!

New restaurant in my area

Who knew shrimp come in complete circles?

(Ordered the shrimp tacos, btw, and they were breaded with slaw and no lime. Nowhere near the image)

Best restaurants in Topeka

What are your favorites?

It can be for any reason: quality, atmosphere, value, whatever. Which places are the best, and why?

I'll start with a non-exclusive list:

Mexican Taco Shop: fast, tasty, affordable, +salsa bar!

Tuptim Thai: amazing food, huge portions, nice atmosphere

Louie's on 10th: better than bar food, affordable, wash your comforter while eating a bierock

Smart Kenneth moments

Kenneth is a lovable buffoon with hundreds of adorably goofy moments.

But sometimes he's surprisingly insightful, like when he tricks Danny into saying "about" in the non-stereotypically-Canadian way just by frustrating him.

What are your favorite Smart Kenneth moments?

Most used lines

...and their applications in your life. Here are some of mine:

When I share an insightful sports opinion (despite me never following along): Portia reads the papers!

When a younger person compliments my sense of style (despite me never following along): it IS ill

When I pay the price for my hubris of science (despite me never following along): BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

New restaurants?

Looking to dine somewhere new tonight.

Any suggestions for a sit-down restaurant (counter service is fine, we just don't want to take it to go) that's newer that you think deserves some traffic?

Top comment deletes a US State #37

Right now, Kansas is the top comment, which means we're about to be eliminated! 😱

If you want us to survive another round, downvote the Kansas parent comments!

2nd highest is voting out Pennsylvania, so for strategy's sake, I suggest upvoting that comment so it surpasses the Kansas comment.
