Y’all what in the sweet hell

The restaurant I ordered from is not exclusively in St. Paul, it has several locations. I have learned from previous nasty experiences to withhold full tip until after the food is in my grubby paws.

Anyway. I’m not using this fuckass app anymore. Good luck out there 👋🏻

EDIT:

The upfront “tip” is not a tip, it’s a bid. The higher the bid, the more likely you are to be paired with a higher rated driver. HOWEVER, this is not always the case, and your order can still be bundled in with lower paying bids and arrive to you cold, late, or never. There is an option to pay $2.99 to deliver directly to you.

The screen that pops up after delivery is the actual tip screen. I bid this driver $1. I tipped him 18%. He’s blocked from my DD account for messaging me and I’m going to move to different food delivery apps.

Case closed and post locked!!

DoorDash is such a scam of a company

I ordered Chick-fil-A over an hour ago and it’s still sitting at the restaurant the previous Dasher who very understandable canceled said it wasn’t in the system. I tried to get a refund I spent over $23 and they’re offering me just over 12 and they’re saying oh we can’t give you a full refund because of how long the order has been active. This company is an absolute scam. I can’t believe I keep using it. I think this is what finally gets me to delete it lol

Is my dasher a Spanish cop?

One of the funniest responses I've had yet. I'm still not sure what he means or what he's actually doing in B Dubs rn. Eric is a weird guy.

Edit: typo

Edit: Update he has unassigned and is probably ubering a bunch of handcuffed fast food workers to the local jail.

I reported them but vegas are you fr

Someone ordered a box of cigarettes from the name I couldn’t tell if it was a women or men, they cracked the door open on arrival to hand it to them for the ID check couldn’t see it was night time and pitch black with the id facing underside down already, scanned id while looking down said thanks and walked away and before I can see it needed a signature on my way back to the car I got this message and felt creeped out to go back to ask for a signature so I contacted DoorDash to complete the delivery and reported the customer smh

Why do you use DoorDash, especially with the cost of everything going up?

I'm Alex Bitter, a reporter with Business Insider.

Recently, I wrote an article about how Tony Xu, the CEO of DoorDash, said he was surprised that people spend as much as they do on food delivery. Tony has some say in how much DoorDash charges, to put it mildly, but I still found the comments interesting.

Often, ordering something through DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. costs a lot more than if you bought the same thing in person at a restaurant or store, thanks to tips, service fees, and markups. I keep hearing about people trying to save money in other areas of life, but it seems like spending on these delivery services keeps increasing.

So, I'd like to know: Why do you find ordering from DoorDash worth the extra cost? Have you tried to cut back at all? How do you view spending on delivery as opposed to other costs?

If you're up for a chat, email me at abitter@businessinsider.com or reach out via text or Signal at 808-854-4501.

Door dasher called at 1am asking for tips

This is insane

I order a late-night treat, while my husband was sleeping. Dasher texted asking for additional tips, I didn’t see the message, and he decided to call at 1am

At this point they just want us to work for free.

The tip being included is crazy, how much was doordash itself going to pay me for this trip.

Edit: the cake is a lie and so is the tip, that is base pay for doordash.

As a fellow dasher this is unacceptable.

I ordered some stuff from a local grocery store I put CONTACT ME if my item is out. No contact just the item was marked as unavailable. So I go and I pick a substitute, the dasher doesn’t bother to shop that item even though I was immediately responsive and they were still in the area that had that item for other items. I need the item for a job tomorrow. The dasher leaves it for the end and marks that the substitution is unavailable no communication from them, no pictures of alternatives. I got a little upset and sent a message to please send pics of substitutions next time. No response so I got upset and contacted support because the whole reason I used door dash is I wanted the stuff immediately and didn’t want to deal with Walmart+ they gave me credit and that’s cool because then I can go and repurchase what I need. Though I shouldn’t have to. Then when they delivered my front door was propped open because the neighbor kids have no clue what security is. (I have a note about that in my delivery notes too to buzz even if the door is propped open.) This lazy a—hat leaves my stuff outside and takes a pic you can’t even see the surroundings or the difference between my apartment building and the other 12 or so almost identical buildings that are in this community. I contacted support again and told them I don’t want the dasher to deliver to me again. My gf called me a Karen. I feel like my anger is justified. AITA?

Doordashers, have you ever experienced this? Weird order

I just got an order for a singular ketchup packet from McDonald’s with the instruction to leave it at the back door. On arrival, the customer was standing on the front porch and told me to walk around the back and put the bag flat on the ground (the bag was still folded cause the item was flat). At first I thought maybe it was a test or like mystery shopper type thing but it just seems to not make much sense. Any ideas?

incompetent/ stupid dashers

This morning I ordered 2 doordashes. One from dashmart and one from chicfila. these were placed at the same time so the arrival was also at the same time. The chicfila dasher was able to deliver to my door but the dashmart driver? just steals my order doesn't even drop off outside the building and still marked as it was delivered in a safe place but with NO picture? This isn't the first time this has happened but this is very frustrating because I know the problem isn't on my end. I've been a dasher before, there needs to be a vetting process because why can't you follow simple directions. This is in the charlotte area so if you see this dasher do not use them if you can. I've reported the dasher but through calling because doordash has made it harder to rate any dashers upon delivery. Back when I dashed a 1 star would cook you. now it seems like it doesn't even matter because they keep allowing stupid people to become a dasher.

Dasher disregards delivery instructions

I tipped ten dollars for a six dollar meal and asked that he not ring the doorbell or the ring camera as people are asleep in my house after working all night. He waited for me to open the door to get my order instead of leaving it at the door as instructed, and then yelled at me “have a good day!” and my dog started barking like crazy.

I would’ve gone to get the food myself but I have an awful migraine and it was impairing my vision so I couldn’t drive, and I don’t trust myself to cook properly when I can barely see.

to his credit he didn’t ring the doorbell. thanks, Bobby.

The 3rd photo is a completely different order, but it was the same guy😭 Dude had the entire salon I work at cackling over this. I added an additional tip onto the order just bc he made me giggle.

Thieving Dasher

So, just wondering how well DoorDash deals with things like this. I ordered something and was waiting on the porch, but I went to the bathroom for a few minutes. When I came back, the Dasher had taken a pack of marijuana I had gotten from a dispensary. She never came back, so I reported her.

My order was also wrong. I don’t know if that was the Dasher’s fault or the restaurant’s since she had two orders. DoorDash resent my order, and so far they’ve given me $5 in credits. They said there could be more, but they’re investigating and I’ll hear back by email.

They also told me they deactivated her account, but obviously I have no way of knowing if that’s actually true. Has anyone dealt with something like this before?

Blessings on top of blessings

Got to the restaurant and the manager said that the customer picked up the order early but was told not to cancel the order because they wanted me to have the tip! This was truly a blessing because we don’t get this often!💪🏾🙏🏾
