Why does Riveria specifically lose so much value resale versus direct?

It seems like specifically for Riviera, there is a massive difference between the direct price and resale price, it's like you lose 50% of your investment instantly when you buy direct.

Why does this happen specifically with Riviera?

The bidding system is nonsense, MSC should give upgrades for free to loyal customers like EVERY cruise line, hotel, airline, etc... used to do by default years ago

I am a loyal customer, I book multiple cruises per year with exclusively MSC, this should qualify me for upgrades. Now it's just something new to sell.

This new system has flown under the radar too long for how it is just a straight up downgrade from how things used to be.

Things to do on an early arrival day besides Disney Springs?

We have a 9am arrival day. It seems like the general sentiment is to do Disney Springs on arrival day, but unless I am underestimating the size of Disney Springs, I don't think it will keep us entertained for an entire day.

Anyone have any other tips?

What percentage does a DVC contract typically appreciate in value?

I am factoring this in to my calculations before buying. So eg: If I buy a $10k contract, in a few years, it could be worth $11k resale.

The "They made the state fair super political" claims are way overblown

I was a little concerned after hearing the discourse here on reddit. But my family traveled a long way to visit the fair, and so we went anyway.

And I found that the whole "they massively politicized the fair this year" to be comically overblown. The only presidents we saw, were the George Washington and Abraham Lincoln actors.

The "Freedom Tuck" was ALL the way at the end of the fairground in the furthest annex, pushed way back in the corner away from everything, was one single truck, had virtually nobody even going to it, and didn't even have any pictures of Trump or modern political figures.

Minimax H3 is very, VERY good. Unbelievably so.

I have been testing it via API. The benchmarks were not wrong when they claimed it was Seedance 2 quality.

This model has flawlessly understood everything I've thrown at it. Even highly complex prompts like specifying exact times at which things occur in the video. Perfect motion and physics. I haven't tested the audio much, but it does do audio too.

It really feels too good to be true for this to be released locally. Please, PLEASE Minimax, do not rug pull us.

50s Prime Time

I know there are a lot of people who refuse to try it because of the schtick, but im curious, is there anybody who ever went out of their comfort zone and tried it and DIDNT enjoy it?

My family is mostly on the introverted side, but I get the feeling they'd actually enjoy it and it would be memorable. Are there any people out there who were uncertain and actually ended up NOT enjoying it at the end of the day?

We're a party of all adults

Pro-tip, if developing with godot, clone the entire open source engine code and tell Claude "You can reference the engine code at any time" - It improves claude performance 1000x.

It regularly checks the engine code to figure out what is actually possible, which bypasses checking the documentation site that can be outdated or wrong.

"All Inclusive Cleaning Fee" trend on tiktok?

Anyone seen this? It's a trend on tiktok from hosts that I am seeing more and more commonly.

Basically some hosts are advertising their cleaning fee as "all inclusive" and saying that the guest has to do NO cleaning, not even take out the trash.

Considering trying this because I see a lot of positive engagement on these videos

[The Beast] after it's refurbishment, is running the best it ever has.

If you haven't gotten an opportunity to ride The Beast after its refurbishment this summer, Gravity Group did something borderline magic with that ride. It feels faster and more intense than it ever has, while also feeling less rough (but not too smooth!)

Find some time to give the ol' boy a ride in the coming season, you won't regret it

Ok I'll admit it. At this point, Fable is good enough that I question what the point of me being a software engineer is other than "You're cheaper than Fable... for now."

anyone else coming to terms with this?

I'm trying my hardest to come up with prompts to throw at Fable that it will actually get wrong, and I can't find any.

I have one more big one for tomorrow when my limits reset. I have a game in Unity. It's filled with custom plugins, spaghetti code, and literally every part of it is a mess. I am going to tell Fable exactly one thing: "Port this game to Godot. Make it functionally the same" and see if it can do it.

If it can, I think I'm gonna start thinking about what jobs are safe from AI.

Finally got one up on Anthropic 😎

Paid for $10 of extra usage, and I got away with $10.01 😎

New app strings strongly suggest Fable will be released as US only, will require full identity verification, and will run exclusively on purchased Usage Credits separate from subscription use

Take a look at the above screenshot, basically worst case scenario in all cases.

At this point, google is either cooking hard or getting cooked

So long without a new release, they either got a serious bun in the oven, or they're pulling a meta and about to lose it all
