What did they give you for pain post op?

So I had to have it done emergency, had a consult with a surgery center coming up but finally gave in and let them do it at the hospital. I think it went good and I genuinely feel better, haven’t had any of the diarrhea or anything they said I’d be having.

It would have all been fine if I’d felt properly medicated. Before surgery they gave me 3 rounds of morphine. Recovering, when I NEEDED it, truly needed it to make all the difference in the entire experience, they gave me like a little bit of dilaudid right after, and then 5mg oxycodone a few times. It hurt like hell not even gonna lie. I just wanted to be out of it just a TINY bit and it would have been like night and day. Idk… just felt so torturous for literally no reason when they could have kept me juiced up. I don’t use these kinda meds so it’s not like I have a tolerance or anything. Am I overreacting? I’m looking back on it upset because the pain felt unnecessary.

If I were at the surgery center, would it have been better?

Compression socks make me itch but it’s not the fabric

Is this something you experience and if so what have you done to combat it? Any indentation in my skin, even regular socks that are too tight make me itch like crazy. I’m not overweight or wearing items that are too small for me so it’s not that either. I really need to wear the socks but it’s like torture with the itching 🥲

How do you know what is spasming

Did your dr tell you like yeah this is that? Or do you just know because of the location? I have spasming that’s all in my lower abdomen like, across the whole thing. I can’t really pinpoint it anywhere it’s just hurting and rumbling and gurgling lol. I can only pinpoint when it’s my stomach or my gallbladder that is messed up bc of the location and previous issues.

Is it smart to have my gallbladder removed if I have ibs

I’ve heard people say their ibs worsened after gallbladder removal.

I have gallstones: I’ve had several attacks, and I can absolutely tell the difference between ibs and my gallbladder.

About the gallbladder, I now know what foods set me off. I have a lot of control over it, only really have attacks when I eat something I REALLY shouldn’t.

So I’m wondering if anyone has been in this position or has any insight. Thank you

If the only things causing attacks are fried foods and heavy grease, would removal actually be worth it?

27f, attacks started in 2025. Triggers have been fried foods, and laying down after eating rich meals.

I’m not sure if I’m being irrational by not wanting to have it removed due to the irregularity of the attacks. When I don’t eat ridiculously, I’m fine. Recently, I was set off by 10 big mozzarella sticks eaten in rapid succession with an entire soda followed by two late night slices of pizza. Very, very stupid.

I’m also weary because I was first told it’s my gallbladder and the stones. Then, I had a Haida scan & they said my gallbladder is actually fine. Then, it was apparently gastritis. THEN, recently, they were trying to give me a colonoscopy and endoscopy which I was gonna do. Very recently I had another severe attack where I was hospitalized and yeah… it’s my gallbladder. The hospital tried to take me to surgery while I was doped up, communicating with my family and not with me! That just really freaked me out. It’s just confusing, and especially because this just… happened. Normal BMI, eat a lot of vegetables… not like I’m eating anything too crazy. Have been a vegetarian for the last 10 years. So this wasn’t something I was anticipating and maybe originally they were quick to say it was something else for this same reason? Idk. Thanks for reading. Hope you guys are all doing well.

Do other people not inherently think what is described in the first part of this meme?

(Cognitive behavioral therapy enjoyer just cut off in traffic) Think positively.
He is probably in a rush for a reason.
Maybe he's late for a job interview.
Maybe his wife is giving birth

Me: I'm da king of da highway
