We just moved in together and it's like I'm living in a frat house

I'm trying to cut him some slack because it's only been a week, but I'm already losing my mind. We just moved back in together after being apart for 3 years due to finances. I thought the mess he had at his parent's place was just due to not wanting to go upstairs to clean the dishes/take out the garbage. NOPE. Dude has the worst excuse of ADD/ADHD that I've ever seen. He refuses treatment, won't take any meds, and will not learn management skills. He's 30.

We have a small fruit fly problem due to being near the woods and I have been trying like hell to quell it. Instead of helping he leaves dirty dishes in the sink, stuff out on the counters, dishes and garbage in every shared space of our apartment. We've already discussed it several times that we need to keep this place picked up for the most part. For the last 3 days, I wake up to crap everywhere. I was told before we moved in that this wasn't going to happen. So I have started treating him like his mom did, because it's the only way things get done. Passive aggressive notes, collecting all the crap he leaves everywhere into a grocery bag and leaving it by his bed. I'm not dealing with it. He is a grown adult and is acting like he is a freshman in college.

I have a friend coming into town next week and he almost stained our brand new futon that they will be sleeping on, left crumbs all over it, and just overall not taking proper care of an item someone will literally be sleeping on a week from now.

I've been trying to rein my own emotions in because I've been overwhelmed with the move, work, and I'm also in pain from screwing up my back during said move. He knows this. We've talked about this. Yet he's like an orange cat without the shared brain cell and I can't do the thinking for the both of us.

Other than this, he's been a huge help with the move. But the mess is really starting to get to me.

New listener with a question

Hey all!

Went to the Rochester Hills show, it was a belated Christmas gift for my bf. They put on such a great show that I'm starting to deep dive into their music.

Am I crazy or has a few songs from Seven + Mary been on TV in commercials? I could swear I've heard All That and More (Sailboat) on tv. Maybe I'm just catching the familiarity because my bf plays their music? Fail! and Mr. Redundant also sound familiar too.

Help me out! I feel like I'm going crazy lol

FIV+ taking prednisolone long-term for IBD

Hi!

I was curious if there's anyone whose cats are on prednisolone for IBD symptoms long-term? My vet has been apprehensive keeping my cat on the steroid for a long period of time due to his size and condition. It's the only medication working to treat the symptoms. We started to wean him off and in less than two weeks the hairballs and soft stools are back. She's worried about kidney or liver damage.

For those out there that has had their cat on prednisolone for a while are there any long-term side effects?

After 10 years, all I want is a ring according to him

Yes, i know. "Ten years and he hasn't proposed? Why are you with him? Just leave."

Look. I put a decade into this relationship and we're about to move back in together (long story short: the economy sucks), I'll be damned if I'm walking away from that to start over again.

What pisses me off is how shallow he makes me out to be. I have rings from him already. I stopped wearing them because everyone assumed they were engagement rings and I got tired of explaining that they were just gifts. They also don't fit and plastic ring adjusters don't work with my small hands.

I just want to be able to call him my husband. He apparently prefers the wifey treatment without locking it down. I've backed off on all of that. Helps when you don't live together.

It's not like I want some big elaborately expensive rock. I asked for a gemstone. Off etsy. It's less than most people spend on a wedding set and yet "all I want is a ring". I've told him before how much that hurts. Yet he defends it. Like I'm the one in the wrong when I've been waiting for TEN FUCKING YEARS.

Soon the excuse will be "oh, I can't afford that babe, we've got closing costs to worry about." Then it'll be "oh we have bills". At this point, I'm damn near ready to buy it and marry myself.

I asked before we buy a place if he could buy the ring so there would be no excuse for not being able to afford it. That was my one condition. Because I know I will be doing the work for most of the move because of our work schedules (days vs nights).

After 10 years of waiting, is it a crime to want to tie the knot?! I've even tried to recruit his sister to help nudge him a bit and not even that worked.

No advice please. No "girl, leave" because it's not happening. I'm just shouting my frustrations into the void. Ik it will happen eventually. I'm just salty about when it will actually happen and pissed about the shallow comment so now I can't sleep.
