Is being "overemployed" bad?

So i came across a post where someone was mad about people who work multiple jobs and saying they are stealing jobs from others.

What do you think? I work 2 jobs during the summers but I applied and got interviewed for them.

In person or hybrid (for school)

Ok so I am currently enrolled in the hybrid version of my program. They offered me a seat for the in person program. The program is exactly the same.

Hybrid

- online classes between 5-10pm Monday to Friday (not the entire 5 hrs nor is it everyday)

- in person every other weekend (both days) from 8am to 4:30pm. So every 2 weeks.

In person

- in person classes between 8am and 10pm.

Hybrid gives me more flexible and saves me money on buying a laptop, parking pass and getting myself to school. But I do admit being in person may help learning (tho idk how good it is for me...)

How is my budget? (Monthly)

I am debating whether I should stop making mutual funds deposits (TFSA) or just keep it since it's low anyway.

I'm a student rn and going back to school in the Fall. I have 1000$ every month for rent set aside for the school yr and I work 1 day a week and make around 400$/month and my partner gives me 250$/month.

I don't live alone. I split 50/50 with my partner. My car insurance is paid yearly hence why it's not here. I try to pay my bills yearly if possible!

Edit: phone was a bit of a bad timing... I'll see what can be done... 😩

Edit 2: lmk if I should add anything to it!

Am from Canada

How do you go from relying on yourself only to relying on someone else?

I always felt so bad asking for help. I help others at the cost of myself always. I'm a bit at the end of my rope now.

My bf is offering me financial support but I just can't help but feel like a burden by doing that. He said he's willing to give me 500$/month or more if he gets that promotion so I wouldn't need to work (I am relying on my own savings to cover the rest).

Like how do you be ok with someone else helping you. It isn't that I dont trust him, I just feel bad. I been living like this (relying on myself) for a long time so...

Going into debt

Hey guys! I just wanted to know what you guys would do in my situation and why.

So I'm an aspiring paramedic student. I am currently enrolled (I start first semester September). I got my financial aid package back and it's not looking good.

I am in a common law relationship.

Here are my base numbers (for 12 months):

- tuition : 4.5k

- first yr equipment : 1.5k + they want me to get a laptop (I use an iPad but they been telling to get a laptop 😭)

- living (rent + everything) : 16k (if I don't go out and do anything)

As my program is quite demanding, I wish to work a bit like 10-15 hrs which isn't rly enough to cover anything. Financial aid is giving me 9.5k (all as a loan).

So on top of graduating with like near 35k-40k in student loans (I currently have 13k from a previous excursion), I do not know if I can cover my living properly.

I always work 80 hrs a week during the summers and push out anyway from 5-10k depending on how much I acc end up working... I also don't wanna work myself to the bone cuz I'm already running on fumes.

Plan B is the CAF.

How much debt is too much debt for the field?

Hey! So I got into a paramedic program but I'm hesitant to jump into it due to a lack of solid funding.

I do have savings but by using it, id graduate with nothing to my name 😭.

OSAP is not giving me enough so I'm looking into alternatives ATM...

I'm looking at at least... 30k-40k. I don't think I can work as much as I think (and I don't want to overdo myself like I did for the last few yrs)

Edit : I have no financial backing if I needed any help. No parents to help me unfortunately. Friends ye maybe.

Edit : 30-40k includes living costs! I'm looking at 1.3k/month minimum. And I currently have a 13k debt.

Go into debt or play it safer

So financial aid came back to me with my package... There been changes this yr and it's not looking good at all.

I'm just getting a 10k loan. My tuition is 4.5k + my equipment costs and textbooks sit at ~2k. 😭

I don't think I can work 35 hrs while I study (paramedic) the entire time. First semester would be fine, but the next 3, nah. I have 8 courses per semester + unpaid hospital placement and ride outs during my final semester.

I'm just cooked 😭 (I do have savings but I'm hoping to not use them...).

On the other hand, I could go the military route but I run the risk of delaying my education since ummm, I'm applying so late. I have to apply to a different school (which i already did) and get an offer. Apply for the military (which takes 4-6 months to process). So I may need to cover outta pocket a bit

Military pays your tuition and gives me a salary of 52k/yr while I study. And they have a sign on bonus for paramedic rn.

Ppl with super long hair...

How do you do your hair? Mine is like mid ass length and I usually keep it in a wolf cut. Just wanted other suggestions for the next time I drop by a salon. No bangs (I have clip ons if needed)

Is this a glitch on OCAS??

So I applied to BScN, MRT, RMT, paramedic and PN. I got my RMT and Paramedic offer in Feb and accepted my paramedic offer.

Anyway, I log in today and I see all my other 4 offers expired. But I never got any email updates?? (For BScN, MRT and PN). Like it says it's posted Feb 1 or 2 but I legit didn't even apply to PN until like a few weeks ago... Which doesn't make any sense?? And it says they all got posted the same day but I only say paramedic and RMT... 😭 🙏🏼

I suck at taking pics but it was very good!

Quest protein chips with spicy ground beef, add tomatoes, jalapenos and green onions and some cheese. Throw in da oven for a lil bit. Add olives. Then back into oven for a bit 💯 added some lettuce too and sour cream

What do y'all use for school? I usually use an iPad but this yr, everyone seems to have a laptop except me 😭. I have a PC at home to use. I'm debating whether I should get a laptop... 🫪
