Thinking of moving to Westchester

I just got a new job in rye. I commute from rockland and the am commute isn’t the issue since I have to get there before 8:30. But coming back it takes over an hour for what’s supposed to be a half hour commute for me. It’s thankfully hybrid and I only have to be in office for 3 days but that’s still 3+ hours of my week gone. I don’t have too much saved up but definitely enough where I can move out to Westchester- any advice and where I should move to? 24F btw thanks in advance

Best Italian? Specifically spaghetti

Looking for the best (and affordable) spaghetti in marinara sauce close to Rye/Harrison or on the way back to Rockland. Planning on getting takeout for mom’s birthday- looking for quality over everything. Or any Italian restaurant deals on Tuesday could be good to know as well! Thanks in advance :)

Job search hacks??

I just graduated with my master's and have been trying to find a full-time job. I have a part-time gig in the field, but the environment is so toxic I often think about quitting on the spot — and it's not the department, it's solely one person.

Anyway, I just got rejected two days in a row, both after second-round interviews. Being early in my career, I don't have a ton of experience yet, so I know I have to lean harder on my personality to win over recruiters and hiring managers. It just sucks because one of those second rounds was nearly two hours long — they wanted me to spend 30 minutes each with three different people on the team. I genuinely thought I connected well with everyone, and the rejection still felt like a sucker punch.

And don't even get me started on ghosting. I drove an hour one way for another role, got blindsided by a three-person panel I wasn't told about, had an internal reference, and sent a follow-up the next morning. It's been a month. Not a peep.

I know plenty of people have been job-hunting way longer, but it's discouraging to finally finish a master's and feel like I should be in demand — not scraping for interviews. I'm trying to hold onto "rejection is just redirection," but those back-to-back ones really sucked :(

So I'd love to hear what's actually worked for people. I'm only in a rush because my current workplace is so toxic and I'm ridiculously underpaid. My plan is to start reaching out to recruiters directly after applying on LinkedIn, but I'd take any other tips you've got.- thanks :/

Graduation dinner

Hi! Looking for graduation dinner recs for next Wednesday. Nothing crazy, I just value quality over quantity. Even if there’s a great happy hour or Wednesday deal. I like Asian and Italian food but am open to any suggestions. It’s only 4 people too, so don’t need anywhere that needs to fit a large party.

Open to suggestions anywhere on the mainline into the city! Thanks in advance :)

Hello! I am taking the SHRM-CP exam in a little less than 2 weeks and would love any last-minute advice. I just finished an HRD master's program and have been using pocket prep to study for the past 3 months. I've taken practice tests & scored well on Pocket Prep, but I hear mixed reviews on if pocket prep has been helpful or not. I'm trying to study both definitions & SJ questions to prepare. I'm not trying to pay for anything more since I already have Pocket Prep. I know there have been lots of posts for advice and whatnot, but every exam is different, and I'm looking to hear from recent experience of how to prepare. Thanks in advance :)
