The ghosts have no use in the show

Idk but the source is timeless, gives consciousness, all makes sense to me, Idk about the ghosts though, they could've been used in season 6, but they weren't and i don't understand why they exist on the island and how little their impact is on the show.

What do you think about lost philosophically on sci fi vs fantasy

This show starts and eventually becomes a sci fi show with dharma initiative and the numbers, But the true nature of the source is very mystical and fantasy like, it's a fantasy show obviously but how do the source and the numbers connect? does the numbers control the source or the other way? because there are some things that have a hard time being sci fi, like no one can find the cave for example, how does the protector actually change destinies?

What if the recurring patterns that is the numbers are actually controlling the source, and source has to obey them?

I might be thinking too much but I'll try to explain -

In most interpretations of Lost, the Source is treated as the ultimate thing. It creates life, death, time, consciousness, and the Island's power. The Numbers are then seen as signs that the Source leaves behind.

I think however

the Source is not the deepest reality. The deepest reality arw the Numbers themselves. They are the universe's hidden mathematical structure. The Source is incredibly powerful, but it exists within that structure rather than above it.

Think about gravity in our universe. A star contains enormous energy, yet it cannot choose to ignore gravity. Gravity is more fundamental than the star. The star exists because it obeys gravity and the other laws of physics.

The Source would be similar. It can heal people, create strange electromagnetic effects, allow time travel, and connect life and death. But it cannot simply invent new rules. It has to operate according to the deeper mathematical constants represented by the Numbers.

This makes the Valenzetti Equation especially interesting. The DHARMA Initiative didn't discover the Source first and then derive the Numbers from it. Instead, they discovered an equation containing 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42, and believed those numbers described humanity's destiny. They treated them the way scientists treat real physical constantas something to be studied, not something created by a mystical force.

If the Numbers are the deepest reality, then Lost is closer to hard science fiction. The universe is ultimately mathematical. The Source is not a godlike force standing above reality, a, but it still obeys the universe's most fundamental laws. The numbers.

Some questions i had

What was the use of the lighthouse?

The source has it's connection far away from the island, so Why does it need a human protector? it can change their destiny or does it only do it when it's trying to do predetermined things?

In the finale How did Mib as locke lead everyone to the heart of the island? he said he walked the island but never found that source?

Did the island always have a protector?

Can protector of the island make any rule the person wishes?

Where did the ash that Jacob uses came from?

When does this show get more serialised?

Finished Season 1 and The finale was a good cliffhanger, now I like the world they've built up, The mystery of the week episodes are fine, I liked Bishop and his son's backstory more and how he joined the group.

The characters are interesting that's why the show is enjoyable, but i like more serialised shows when there is a leadup of at least 5-8 episodes to the finale, When will that start to happen ? will there still be mysteries of the week?

The mysteries of the week are fine for what they are if they are building up for more lore but some of these seem like filler. My problem is also that episodes have similar structure, I don't mind them re using the same structure at all, but I think there should be atleast 2-3 different structures. regardless love the show especially the characters.
