Just submitted my application today (July 1st); when do the very first rolling decisions usually drop?

Hey everyone! I know ASU usually takes around 2-3 weeks to send back an admission decision once everything is submitted and in review. Since applications just opened up and I submitted mine today, I'm wondering if they actually start processing and rolling out decisions right away in July, or if the admissions office waits until August/September to start updating My ASU portals?

Anyone who applied super early in previous cycles remember when they got their acceptance? Thanks!

Cornell Engineering: Does a PLTW/Engineering Teacher Count for the STEM Recommendation Requirement?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply to Cornell Engineering and had a question about the teacher recommendation requirement.

Cornell’s Engineering FAQ says that at least one recommendation should come from a math, science, or computer science teacher. However, I’ve seen some older discussions online suggesting that Cornell prefers recommendations specifically from core math or physics teachers to demonstrate quantitative ability.

My PLTW/Honors Engineering teacher knows me very well and could write a strong, detailed recommendation. In contrast, my AP Calculus and AP Chemistry teachers don’t know me nearly as well, so their letters would likely be more generic.

Has anyone applied to Cornell Engineering with a recommendation from a PLTW or engineering teacher and had it count toward the STEM recommendation requirement? Does an engineering elective generally satisfy Cornell’s expectation, or would it be safer to get a recommendation from a core math or science teacher instead?

I’ve checked Cornell’s website, but I’m hoping to hear from applicants who have been in a similar situation.

Thanks!

Does a PLTW / Engineering teacher satisfy Cornell Engineering's STEM recommendation requirement?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning to apply to the Cornell College of Engineering and I’m a bit confused about their teacher recommendation requirements.

On the official [Cornell Duffield Engineering FAQ page](https://www.duffield.cornell.edu/admissions/admissions-faqs/), it states that they require *"at least one recommendation be from a math, science or computer science teacher."* However, on a few older threads and CC posts, I've seen people saying they are strict about it being specifically a core math or physics teacher to prove math ability.

My Project Lead The Way (PLTW) / Honors Engineering teacher knows me incredibly well, and they can write me a stellar letter. My core AP Calc and AP Chem teachers don't know me nearly as well, and their letters would probably be pretty generic.

Has anyone successfully applied to Cornell Engineering using a PLTW/Engineering teacher for their STEM requirement? Does an engineering elective count under "science/computer science," or do I need to look for a core math/science teacher instead?

Thanks in advance for the help!
