When did you know it was time to leave. No cheating occurred were just drifting apart. We have been together for together for 17 years I don't know if I want to be with her anymore.
We have been together faithful since 18. Last few years I have been changing. I lost a lot of weight, i got a stable carreer, i own a house. We have been upgrading and living the life we want to. However wifh the life improvement comes more life responsibilities and i feel like she isn't doing her fair share.
My household chores consists of
Cooking dinner everyday
Cleaning the kitchen
Cleaning the living room.
Repairing everything
Making sure the bills are paid
Handling insurances
I also handle pet care 1 fish tank, a dog and a cat.
My wife's household chores are
Laundry which she doesn't fold or put away
Clean bedrooms which shes doesn't do i end up doing it when it gets to messy.
Clean bathrooms which is the same she lets it get so nasty and then I have to clean it up.
Make sure our daughter is groomed shes 8 and it seems like that is always on me. she does takes the dog outside sometimes.
Over the last few months maybe a year now. She has been doing less and less and getting lazier and lazier. I have talked to her about it but it just ends up back to this. I work between 50 and 60 hours a week. She works less than 40.
I am tired of having all the household responsibilities while she just sits on her phone.
I'm burnt out and over it. But she is my wife and I love her to death. But it cant keep going like this. So now I am asking for advice from. Strangers on the internet. So helpful strangers any advice???
Thanks for reading everyone..
I’m not really sure where to start, and this is my first time posting something like this, but I need advice.
My wife and I have been together for 16 years, married for 10 this August. We’ve always had a good relationship, and she has never given me a reason not to trust her. We both work full time she works about 40 hours a week, and I usually work 50+.
Recently, she discovered an app called PolyBuzz. Ever since then, she’s been on her phone constantly, pretty much all day. Normally I wouldn’t care about phone use, but this feels different. She’s on it more than she’s not.
What’s bothering me is how her behavior has changed. She now hides her screen, which she’s never done before. If I ask about it, she gets defensive or changes the subject. She’s not disappearing or anything like that, but it still feels off.
This morning, I did something I’ve never done before, I went through her phone. I feel terrible about it, but I felt like I needed to know what was going on. According to her screen time, she’s averaging around 16 hours a day on her phone, and about 14 of those hours are spent on PolyBuzz. There are no dating apps, no messaging apps, just that one.
I checked the app, and most of the conversations are sexual in nature. Let me be clear. I’m not against porn or anything like that. Hell, i watch it. But the amount of time she’s spending on this just doesn’t feel healthy, and it honestly feels like a form of cheating, even if it’s with an AI.
On top of that, it’s affecting our relationship and home life. She’s been ignoring both me and our daughter. She doesn’t cook or clean anymore, and I’ve been handling all of that on top of working long hours. She’s also been distant physically less affection overall, sometimes even pulling away from something as simple as a kiss. There was even a two-day stretch where she showed no affection at all, which is very unlike us.
It feels like we’re starting to drift into more of a roommate situation than a marriage.
This has been going on for about two months, and I’m at the end of my rope. I’ve tried talking to her, but she deflects or says I’m being dramatic. I’ve tried being romantic likebtaking her out to dinner, planning movie nights. but she just stays on her phone the entire time. I even got her a gift, and she didn’t acknowledge it.
I love my wife, and I don’t want to leave. But I’m exhausted. I’m working long hours, taking care of the house, and getting very little in return. If this continues, I don’t know what the point is.
I haven’t suggested therapy yet because she has a very negative view of it and I don’t think she’d go.
The ironic part about this. I didnt like the way this sounded so I used AI to help make it sound better. If thats not a kick in the balls. But in all seriousness, If anyone has advice on how to handle this or how to get through to her, I’d really appreciate it
Thank you for reading!
