housing app

Does anyone know how the dorm with private room/private bath look like?

Also, are we able to request a person for the roommate for the apartment share if I already know a friend to live with?

UCI vs Columbia GS

I am having a hard time choosing which school to go. My major is Business Admin (Paul Merage) at UCI and Econ with concentration in Management at Columbia GS.

I already know a few people who are going to UCI from my cc and also my sister is at ucb so it is easier for her to visit me than the east coast, plus the weather is nice. But the other option is LITERALLY NEW YORK and who doesn't have a fantasy about living in NY and grind.

My first and priority choice was UCLA and i won't have to go through all these things if UCLA didn't put me on the waitlist and make me suffer.

I feel like it is going to be easier if i go to UCI like moving and everything since I already live in bay area. But the thing is I wanted to live in LA, i love the vibes, food accessibility and the social scene.

Since it's Irvine, it's gonna be a 45-60mins drive to downtown and I do not drive. If it take the public transportation, it's literally a day trip and gonna be such a hassle. It's the same distance from where I live rn to San Jose ad I DON'T GO TO SJ because it's TOO FAR. If i go to NY, i don't need to drive at all and push that thing away as far as I can.

I want to live the rest of my college life in a loud, busy and work hard, play hard place which NY is perfect for. I am tired of living in rural/suburban area.

I still can't compare the costs because I just got into Columbia GS and my aid package haven't arrive yet and I'm currently still fighting UCI financial aid office due to my independent status.

I wonder if Columbia GS's actually worth it. But it still also has the brand name better compared to UCI.

I seriously need advice😭🙏

Could be a stupid question but how does the acc housing work?

I’m thinking of applying for the 1bed private and live with my friend, one person in the living room.

Since the website tells the. rent/person or installment, how does it gonna work?

Is it okay to put one more person in living room ? Does that happen regularly and is management chill about it? And Is it cheaper and better to stay off campus if we wanna put one more person than bedrooms?

I’m incoming transfer student trying to figure out the living situation. Please help me😭🙏
