I bought this for $300 including tax at sams club and wondering how to make it more secure? Like a VPN to tunnel in and won't connect to internet.
The reason I asked is because we used ring before and someone hacked and talked in our camera at night which is terrifying. So I bought this nvr system but wanted to enhance it's security.

All I see researching about night owl is bad but I doubt everyone of them tried it tho. I saw this at local walmart and it's on clearance.
2K quality, wired powered with local storage. I believe this is close to $400 but local walmart sells $249.
4 cameras, 1tb local storage.
Is it a good buy?
I saw a clearance Nightowl Wifi Security Camera with NVR but in 2K because the pic shows 1080 only for $249 and Tapo Security Camera for $129 at Costco.
Which system should I buy? I want something that has no monthly subscription. 24/7 is a plus but I know tapo only records when motion is detected.
Which one is a good buy?
