Newly graduate jobs

I’m hoping to go into the education program this fall and eventually become a teacher here in the Lower Mainland. I know landing a full-time position can be tough at first. For those of you who’ve been through it, what was your experience like starting out whether as a Teacher on Call or finding a more stable role?

Transit vancouver - delta

I’ve lived in Vancouver my whole life, and I just got a job at a clinic in Delta! It looks like I can either take the R6 or the 301 from Richmond to get there. I’m a bit nervous about the commute—can anyone tell me what those bus routes are like and what you think is the easiest way to get from around the Langara area to Delta? The clinic is on 120 st

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply to the UBC BEd (Elementary) for the 2027 intake and I’m starting to get a bit nervous about my stats.

By the time I apply, my last 60 units GPA will be around 3.2–3.3 from sfuI know the minimum requirement is 2.5, but I’m worried that my GPA might not be competitive enough for UBC.

For experience, I’ll have 1500+ hours working with children continuing including:

- Outreach facilitator with science/STEM programs

- Camp experience

- Classroom volunteering in an elementary school (Grade 3)

I feel really strong about my experience and passion for teaching, but I’m not sure how much weight UBC places on GPA vs. experience.

Do you think a ~3.3 GPA with strong experience is competitive for UBC BEd? Has anyone gotten in with similar stats?

Any advice or honest feedback would really help — I just want to know where I stand.

Thank
