It’s nearly 5 years old (I’ve just checked). It’s travelled around the world extensively, only in Business when long hail overnight so far more often in Economy . I’ve never wrapped it, it’s just thrown to the wolves and it does look pretty f**ked but it’s fine structurally.

It evaded an attempt during a 7 hours stopover at Jo’berg airport, they got into my husband’s non-Rimowa case and broke the lock.

I’d prefer zip compartments but it wheels like a dream which I love as I’m small and weedy. I assume it’s a large, - it’s check-in. I bought it from the Bond Street store in London.

I know it’s quite expensive but how I love this Paper Republic leather balm!

I have other leather balms and moisturisers I’ve used on bags over the years but this is the lightest, purest beeswax that smells divine and doesn’t darken my Cognac. It’s so good I’ve trusted it on my leather watch straps.

This photo is from a few weeks ago but I’ve wiped it down and treated it again tonight prior to a trip away and opening the tin was like Proust’s madeleine; it took me straight back to Christmas and my excitement over my beautiful new journal, blank with promise, and it’s intoxicating leather smell, soon overlaid with the beeswax scent of Le Baume as I used it straightaway. It also takes me back to the India trip we took a few days later where I started travel journalling for the first time. Its been a revelation.
