Coolster QG-214S wiring oddities (voltage regulator maybe?)

Hi, I've been working on this Coolster QG 214S and had it running for a while, then it blew the CDI box (which is what was wrong with it when it came to me). The voltage regulator for these seems to be 4 pin but there's no 4 pin plug on the harness. There's a 5 pin that's empty that goes to this odd little circular plug above the front sprocket. Is that where the voltage regulator is supposed to go on these? If so, anyone have a part number or anything?

I'm a one-man independent motorcycle shop. I've done a few big (for me) jobs that are in the 2-5k range. So far everyone has just paid cash, but I have a customer now that wants to finance, stating he can't cover the bill. I don't want to finance with myself as the lender because I've already gotten screwed out of about 3k that way - finding out if someone stops paying you have to go to small claims court and all that garbage - stuff I have neither the time nor the money to do.

For other motorcycle repair shops out there - how do you guys handle this? I looked into Sunbit but it requires using another piece of software to integrate with. I use my own custom-built ERP system and GNUcash for accounting (I'm a network engineer by day).
